Our Story

Lincoln Learning Centers, known as American Spaces in most of the world, are partnerships between the Public Affairs section of the U.S. Embassy - Kabul and the Afghan government. They provide access to current and reliable information about the U.S. via multi-media, book collections, the Internet and programming for the general public. The Centers are open, accessible and free-of-charge. Space is made available to host program events and activities (i.e. author readings, films, speaker programs, workshops, films, meetings, and exhibits). Locally hired personnel staff the Centers.

Sponsored jointly by the Embassy and a host institution, LLCs offer services similar to a U.S. public library. Its primary function is to make information about the United States available to the public through Internet access, print resources, audio and video products, DVDs and CD-ROMs.

Bamyan Licoln Learning Center is one of the American space that offers the following services:
