A five-day On-Compas Network Security and Monitoring Training Workshop were conducted for the IT technicians of 22 AfgREN member Universities.
The program was officially inaugurated by excellency Dr. Ahmad Seyar Mahjoor, MOHE deputy minister and Ms. Shukria Jamal.
at the end of the program Assistant Professor Shukria Jamal Director of Information Technology and AfgREN at Ministry of Higher Education said that the IT technicians of 22 Universities were trained and they have learned the required skills and knowledge of network security and network monitoring, she mentioned that this is the time for attendees to use and deploy the gained knowledge and skills of this workshop in their Universities, likewise she awarded them the successful completion certificates of this workshop.

Good News!
AfgREN Will Soon launch the EduRoam Global Services for the first time in Afghanistan.
since two months ago AfgREN NOC team has started working with international TLRS members (AARNet) by the support of the TEIN Asia Connect Project to implement EduRoam in Afghanistan to be used by the public University students and academic members.
AfgREN network operation center is selected to be the only EduRoam National Roaming Operator (NRO) in Afghanistan. today the configuration has been completed and the local test has been accomplished in AfgREN NOC, the next step is to work with targeted Universities (K**S, KPU, and SREU) selected for the first batch of EduRoam service implementation, hopefully, AfgREN will soon launch the EduRoam services in the targeted Universities.
