International School of Kabul - ISK Memories After 12 years of operation in Kabul, ISK closed its doors in January 2015 due to intense security issues. 400 students and staff mourn. High School diploma.

The International School of Kabul, (ISK), was founded in 2003 to support the rebuilding and development of Afghanistan by serving four major groups: Afghan families who are returning from living outside the country, the international aid community, the diplomatic community and international business families. The school was operated as a joint project of USAID, Oasis International Schools, and the

Afghan government. ISK offered an American style college preparatory curriculum resulting in a U.S. Full accreditation was awarded through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in December 2008. Caring for our students, providing quality academic programs, and developing future leaders with the necessary character to become effective global citizens are core to what we do. Our hearts (and that of 400 students) were broken when it became necessary to close the school for security reasons in January 2015.
