For 1,100 days, Afghan girls have been deliberately denied the right to education beyond grade 6. We stand alongside Afghan women and girls to demand that all schools be reopened immediately for girls of all ages inlcuding the right to travel abroad to pursue their studies. Education is a fundamental human right, and the future of Afghanistan depends on empowering its girls through learning. Let’s stand together and raise our voices for change.

Three years of Taliban rule have devastated Afghanistan’s education system, with millions of girls denied their basic right to learn. Once thriving classrooms are now filled with silence, dreams shattered. Teachers and students live in fear, while generations are losing access to the opportunities that education provides. It’s been a painful and heartbreaking three years for Afghan families. Education is not just a right; it’s a lifeline—and it’s slipping away.

Afghan girls and women defy all odds to build a better future for themselves and our nation. The denial of education to women and girls in Afghanistan has far-reaching and devastating consequences, both today and in the years to come. We demand that all educational institutions be open and accessible to all women and girls immediately.

Our colleague, omer Malikyar, has been busy at the UN Geneva in Switzerland in the past few days, collaborating with youth from around the world to discuss humanity's future. Omer has met with the U.N. Human Rights Commissioner and other U.N. diplomats to advocate for the protection of human rights in Afghanistan, particularly the right to education.

One day of missed school is one too many.
