*سؤالات مستقیم و غیرمستقیم (Direct & Indirect Questions)*
در زبان انگلیسی، سؤالها به دو دستهی اصلی تقسیم میشوند: سؤالات مستقیم و سؤالات غیرمستقیم. شناخت تفاوت این دو نوع سؤال و یادگیری روش تبدیل آنها به یکدیگر، به زبانآموز کمک میکند که مودبانهتر، رسمیتر و طبیعیتر صحبت کند.
1. سؤالات مستقیم (Direct Questions)
سؤالات مستقیم همان سؤالات معمولی هستند که در مکالمات روزمره زیاد استفاده میشوند و ساختار آنها به صورت پرسشی است.
مثالها:
Do you have a car?
(آیا ماشین داری؟)
Where did you go yesterday?
(دیروز کجا رفتی؟)
در این نوع سؤالها:
جای فعل کمکی و فاعل عوض میشود.
در پایان سؤال از علامت ? استفاده میکنیم.
2. سؤالات غیرمستقیم (Indirect Questions)
سؤالات غیرمستقیم معمولاً در موقعیتهای رسمیتر یا مودبانهتر به کار میروند. این نوع سؤالها اغلب با یک عبارت پرسشی در ابتدای جمله شروع میشوند.
مثالها:
Could you tell me if you have a car?
Could you tell me where you went yesterday?
این نوع سؤالها:
رسمیتر و مؤدبانهتر هستند
در مکالمات کاری، آکادمیک و نوشتاری بیشتر استفاده میشوند
عبارات رایج برای شروع سؤالات غیرمستقیم
Could you tell me …
Can you tell me …
Do you know …
Do you remember …
قوانین تبدیل سؤال مستقیم به غیرمستقیم
1. در ابتدای جمله از یک عبارت پرسشی استفاده میکنیم.
2. در سؤالات بله/خیر (Yes/No) از if یا whether استفاده میکنیم،
اما در سؤالات WH همان کلمهی پرسشی (what, where, when, who…) باقی میماند.
3. افعال کمکی do / does / did حذف میشوند.
4. سایر افعال کمکی مثل have، has، can، will یا افعال to be حذف نمیشوند.
5. در سؤالات منفی، do / does / did حذف نمیشوند.
6. جای فاعل و فعل مانند جملهی خبری میشود (دیگر حالت پرسشی ندارد).
به این تغییر ساختار، inversion گفته میشود.
> نکته مهم: همیشه به زمان فعل توجه کنید.
مثالها:
1.
Direct: Did Ajmal call you?
Indirect: Could you tell me if Ajmal called you?
2.
Direct: Will your father go there?
Indirect: Do you know if your father will go there?
3.
Direct: When is Ahmad coming here?
Indirect: Could you tell me when Ahmad is coming here?
