There are some strange and unpleasant customs in Afghanistan. First, child marriage is one of the worst customs in Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, families force their daughters to marry at a very young age. Approximately, 26 percent of Afghan girls are married before their legal age, and the common ages for girls to marry are 15 or 16, and that is why most families are breaking up. A second unpleasant custom that Afghan people are following is giving away girls to settle disputes. Most people give their daughters to another tribe to solve their personal problems; however, it is a violent action against girls. In fact, girls are the victims of their families. And finally, a last unpleasant custom that you may have discovered in Afghanistan is honer killing. In the past, many people thought that girls bring shame to a family by being born, so they would kill all the girls when they were born. Though this is not seen a lot recently, people still believe that being a girl and having a daughter are big crimes. All in all, Afghanistan would be a better place without these customs.
