Play is at the heart of Al Khaleej Nursery and the Early Years Foundation Stage. We firmly believe a child who is happy, safe and secure develops and learns. Through daily routines and a well-planned programme of both child and adult initiated activities we ensure each child works at a level appropriate to their needs and abilities. We have seven areas of learning and development within the Early

Years Foundation Stage. Physical Development
3. Personal, Social and Emotional Development

The four specific areas are:

1. Literacy
2. Mathematics
3. Understanding of the World
4. Expressive Art and Design

At Al Khaleej Nursery we are proud of our relationships with parents and welcome your support and encourage open dialogue in all matters concerning your child and the nursery. We ensure that your child spends quality time with his/her teacher, allowing them to get to know each other more quickly. We are keen to ensure that your child’s first experiences of nursery are positive and beneficial. Our staff is very experienced in dealing with such situations and with a concerted effort from parents and staff we generally find that even very sensitive and anxious children are able to adapt. Throughout the year observations on your child will be made and a profile book completed on my learning journey throughout the year. A report and profile will be produced at the end of the academic year and given to you by the class teacher. At Al Khaleej Nursery we aim to enable children, in a friendly, happy and caring atmosphere, and through stimulating play, to develop to their full potential.
