At some point, you need to stop seeking external validation for every decision you make in life.
Because, let’s face it, the people who cheer for you now won’t always be around forever. Yet, I see so many people—grown, capable adults—still waiting for a nod from their parents, approval from their boss, or a thumbs-up from their spouse.
I get it; we all crave a bit of validation. But there’s a difference between valuing advice and needing permission.
I look around and see people in their 30s, 40s and even 50s, still pinning their choices on others, as if they’re afraid to make a call without a safety net.
It’s funny but also a little sad—grown adults who are fully capable yet stuck in the loop of seeking someone else’s reassurance.
It’s like, “You are old enough to buy a house or switch careers, yet you’re asking if it’s okay to trust your ownself?”
Life gets a lot more interesting when you stop waiting for someone to validate your choices and start relying on your own compass. Your decisions, your missteps, your growth.
