Emirati (Gulf) Arabic words with transliteration:
Ocean → محيط (muḥīṭ)
Sea → بحر (baḥar)
Lake → بحيرة (buḥayra)
Pond → بركة (barka)
River → نهر (nahr)
Stream → سِيل (sēl) / مجرى ماي (majra māy)
Puddle → بركة ماي (barkat māy) / ماي متجمع (māy mtjama‘)
Wetland → أراضي رطبة (arāḍi raṭba) / منطقة فيها ماي ونباتات (manṭiga fīha māy w nabātāt)

Words related to weather/rain 🌧️ ☔ 🇦🇪
1️⃣ Rain Meaning in Arabic: مطر (Maṭar)

Sentences:
الجو اليوم مطر 🌧 (Al-jaw alyawm maṭar) – The weather is rainy today.
أحب المطر لأنه ينعش الجو 😌 (Uḥibb al-maṭar li'annahu yun'ish al-jaw) – I love the rain because it refreshes the weather.
2️⃣ Cloud
Meaning in Arabic: سحابة
Transliteration: Saḥābah
Sentences:
السماء مليانة سحابات اليوم ☁️ (Al-samā’ mali’ah saḥābāt alyawm) – The sky is full of clouds today.
هل تتوقع مطر من هالسحابة؟ 🌥 (Hal tatawaqqa’ maṭar min hal-saḥābah?) – Do you expect rain from this cloud?
3️⃣ Storm
Meaning in Arabic: عاصفة
Transliteration: ‘Āṣifah
Sentences:
في عاصفة اليوم، خلي بالك من الشوارع 🌪 (Fī ‘āṣifah alyawm, khalli bālak min al-shawāri‘) – There is a storm today, be careful on the roads.
لا نعرف إذا العاصفة تستمر ولا لا ⚡ (Lā na‘rif itha al-‘āṣifah tastamir wa lā lā) – We don’t know whether the storm will continue or not.
4️⃣Thunder
Meaning in Arabic: رعد
Transliteration: Ra‘d
Sentences:
سمعت الرعد اليوم بصوت عالي ⚡ (Sami‘t al-ra‘d alyawm bi-ṣawt ‘āly) – I heard the thunder loudly today.
الأطفال خافوا من الرعد 😨 (Al-aṭfāl khāfū min al-ra‘d) – The kids were scared because of the thunder.
5️⃣ Umbrella
Meaning in Arabic: مظلة
Transliteration: Maẓallah
Sentences:
خذ مظلتك قبل ما تخرج ☔️ (Khudh maẓallatak qabl ma takhruj) – Take your umbrella before you go out.
