๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ“ HOW TO APPLY TO VIS AND START YOUR STUDIES

Parents often ask us how the admissions process at VIS works and where to begin. Hereโ€™s a simple overview of the main steps.

1๏ธโƒฃ Online interview

We carry out a comprehensive assessment of each pupilโ€™s knowledge and skills.

For younger pupils: the focus is on cognitive skills such as memory, logic and imagination, as well as emotional intelligence, communication skills and readiness for online learning.

For older pupils: the focus is on academic English, including reading, grammar and speaking, as well as critical thinking and motivation.

2๏ธโƒฃ Documents from the current school

To give us a complete picture of the pupilโ€™s academic progress, we will need their most recent school report, transcript or another document showing their current academic attainment.

3๏ธโƒฃ Entrance tests

Mathematics is assessed at all levels.

Pupils applying for the A-level programme are also required to take subject-specific entrance tests. This applies even though, at this stage, they will go on to choose three or four subjects to study in greater depth.

At every stage, the VIS team is there to support families and guide them through the process. Our aim is to make admissions as clear, straightforward and stress-free as possible for both parents and pupils.

๐ŸŽ“ ONE-TO-ONE LESSONS AT VIS: HOW DOES LEARNING ADAPT TO EACH STUDENT? โœจ

One-to-one lessons at VIS offer a full alternative to group-based learning. Students work through the entire curriculum individually with a teacher, allowing the learning process to be tailored to their own academic goals and helping them achieve the results they are aiming for ๐ŸŽ’

The benefits of one-to-one learning:

โœ” Families have full control over the timetable and can arrange lessons around their own commitments

โœ” More time can be spent on challenging topics, without going over material the student already understands well

โœ” One-to-one and group lessons can be combined โ€” for example, a student might study their key subjects individually with a teacher while still enjoying the social side of learning with classmates in other lessons

VIS students have the opportunity to work one-to-one with graduates of some of the worldโ€™s leading universities, including the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge in the UK, Colorado State University in the US, Universitร  degli Studi di Parma in Italy, and many more ๐ŸŒ

During lessons, students also get first-hand insight into what to expect in their exams. Teachers explain how the assessments are structured, how marking works, the mistakes students commonly make, and the important details that are rarely covered in textbooks ๐Ÿ“š

Alongside academic preparation, teachers also keep track of each studentโ€™s motivation, concentration and development of soft skills. These factors can often have just as much impact on final exam results as subject knowledge itself ๐ŸŒŸ

This format is particularly convenient for students who combine their studies with extracurricular activities. For example, a student can get additional guidance while working on a physics project, preparing a presentation for a history research paper, or even developing their own business idea during economics lessons ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿ‘ฅ WHO ARE VIS MINI-GROUPS FOR? โœจ

Some families need a more flexible approach to learning than standard group classes can offer. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™ve created a unique learning format: mini-groups for two students.

This option offers the perfect balance for those who would benefit from more personalised learning but, for various reasons, are not yet ready for one-to-one lessons. In a mini-group, students can spend more time working through challenging topics or, if their level allows, progress through the curriculum at a faster, more intensive pace ๐ŸŽ’

The benefits of this learning format include:

โœ” Students learn in pairs, so they can study with a friend or someone close to them, provided they have similar academic goals and levels of preparation.

โœ” Mini-groups are formed according to each studentโ€™s knowledge, skills and learning objectives.

โœ” Students follow the same curriculum as those in standard group classes, but with a more personalised approach. At the end of their studies, they receive an internationally recognised qualification ๐ŸŒ

โœ” As there are only two students in each class, the teacher can give each of them plenty of individual attention.

Mini-groups are also ideal for students who would like to study additional subjects that support their interests, goals or future university plans. Some may need an extra language before moving abroad or starting university, while others may want to explore a particular subject in greater depth, such as Business or Sociology ๐Ÿ“š

In a mini-group, the teacher focuses on the studentsโ€™ specific needs: working through difficult topics, strengthening their knowledge and tailoring their preparation to help them achieve the results they are aiming for ๐ŸŽฏ

HOW DOES VIS HELP STUDENTS PREPARE FOR ATTENDING SCHOOL IN ANOTHER COUNTRY? ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŽ“

When moving abroad, many families plan for their child to attend a local school in person, but worry about how easily they will adapt to a new education system. That is why some students join VIS before they move. We help them prepare gradually and effectively for studying at an international school.

Communicating in English with classmates and teachers from different countries, developing critical-thinking skills, becoming more independent and learning how to manage their time all help students feel more confident in their new environment and settle into their studies more quickly.

After enrolling at an in-person school, students can also continue studying with VIS through our combined learning programme. This allows them to retain consistent academic support while working towards an internationally recognised British qualification.

HOW VIS MAKES LEARNING WORK ACROSS TIME ZONES ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ

Living abroad or moving frequently can leave families wondering how to organise their childโ€™s education in a way that remains both comfortable and consistent.

When lesson times do not fit a studentโ€™s usual routine, it can quickly become exhausting. Their sleep may be disrupted, their concentration can suffer, and they may have less time for rest, hobbies and recharging.

To make learning accessible for families around the world, VIS offers two lesson schedules. Classes take place at either 11:00 am (GMT+4) or 5:00 pm (GMT+4), allowing families to choose a time that works well for their time zone ๐Ÿš€

The timetable depends on the programme selected:

1๏ธโƒฃ Full-time Programme

Lessons take place in the morning ๐Ÿ“š

2๏ธโƒฃ Part-time Programme โณ

Students can choose between morning and afternoon lessons, making it easy to combine studying at VIS with attending a local school.

How does this work in practice? ๐ŸŒ

๐Ÿ“ For students in Europe and nearby time zones, the morning schedule usually fits naturally into the start of their day.

๐Ÿ“ For families in Asia, the Middle East or North America, the afternoon schedule is often more convenient, allowing children to study without extremely early starts or late evenings.

VIS currently welcomes students from 37 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Switzerland, the UAE, Thailand, Turkey and many more ๐ŸŒ

This shows that our timetable system truly works for families across a wide range of time zones.

VIS is an international community where students from different countries learn together, connect with one another and feel part of a truly global world ๐Ÿค

YOUR ROADMAP TO SUCCESS: GETTING INTO AN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐ŸŽ“

Many families worry that applying to university can become a complicated and confusing process: application deadlines, university entry requirements, subject choices, and examinations. This confusion often arises when preparation starts too late. That is why the ideal time to begin planning is around two years before submitting applications. ๐Ÿ“šโณ

One of the most reliable pathways for this preparation is the A-level programme for students aged 16โ€“18. ๐ŸŒ

The A-level programme follows a clear and structured approach. Step by step, students build the academic foundation required for admission to an international university. ๐ŸŽ“

Step 1. Choosing an Academic Pathway

Students select 3โ€“4 subjects that are directly related to their future degree and career aspirations. For example, a prospective medical student may choose Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, while a future law student might study History, Economics and English.

โœ… A clear academic and career direction is established

โœ… Learning becomes more purposeful and engaging

Step 2. Developing Subject Expertise

Students do far more than simply cover the syllabus. They gain a deeper understanding of their subjects and learn how to apply their knowledge in practice. This makes the transition to university study significantly easier.

Step 3. Building Essential Academic Skills

Throughout the programme, students develop the key skills needed for future academic success, including independence, self-discipline, research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to present and defend their ideas effectively.

Step 4. Approaching University Applications with Confidence

When preparation begins early, the application journey becomes clear, structured and manageable. As a result, the admissions process is far less stressful and considerably more straightforward. ๐ŸŽฏ๐ŸŒ

A-levels serve as a genuine bridge between school and university โ€” a logical and carefully planned stage of a student's academic journey. Step by step, they help build a clear pathway towards international higher education and a successful future career. ๐ŸŽ“โœจ
