💚🎓 HOW TO APPLY TO VIS AND START YOUR STUDIES

Parents often ask us how the admissions process at VIS works and where to begin. Here’s a simple overview of the main steps.

1️⃣ Online interview

We carry out a comprehensive assessment of each pupil’s knowledge and skills.

For younger pupils: the focus is on cognitive skills such as memory, logic and imagination, as well as emotional intelligence, communication skills and readiness for online learning.

For older pupils: the focus is on academic English, including reading, grammar and speaking, as well as critical thinking and motivation.

2️⃣ Documents from the current school

To give us a complete picture of the pupil’s academic progress, we will need their most recent school report, transcript or another document showing their current academic attainment.

3️⃣ Entrance tests

Mathematics is assessed at all levels.

Pupils applying for the A-level programme are also required to take subject-specific entrance tests. This applies even though, at this stage, they will go on to choose three or four subjects to study in greater depth.

🎓 ONE-TO-ONE LESSONS AT VIS: HOW DOES LEARNING ADAPT TO EACH STUDENT? ✨

One-to-one lessons at VIS offer a full alternative to group-based learning. Students work through the entire curriculum individually with a teacher, allowing the learning process to be tailored to their own academic goals and helping them achieve the results they are aiming for 🎒

The benefits of one-to-one learning:

✔ Families have full control over the timetable and can arrange lessons around their own commitments

✔ More time can be spent on challenging topics, without going over material the student already understands well

✔ One-to-one and group lessons can be combined — for example, a student might study their key subjects individually with a teacher while still enjoying the social side of learning with classmates in other lessons

👥 WHO ARE VIS MINI-GROUPS FOR? ✨

Some families need a more flexible approach to learning than standard group classes can offer. That’s why we’ve created a unique learning format: mini-groups for two students.

This option offers the perfect balance for those who would benefit from more personalised learning but, for various reasons, are not yet ready for one-to-one lessons. In a mini-group, students can spend more time working through challenging topics or, if their level allows, progress through the curriculum at a faster, more intensive pace 🎒

The benefits of this learning format include:

✔ Students learn in pairs, so they can study with a friend or someone close to them, provided they have similar academic goals and levels of preparation.

✔ Mini-groups are formed according to each student’s knowledge, skills and learning objectives.

✔ Students follow the same curriculum as those in standard group classes, but with a more personalised approach. At the end of their studies, they receive an internationally recognised qualification 🌍

✔ As there are only two students in each class, the teacher can give each of them plenty of individual attention.

Mini-groups are also ideal for students who would like to study additional subjects that support their interests, goals or future university plans. Some may need an extra language before moving abroad or starting university, while others may want to explore a particular subject in greater depth, such as Business or Sociology 📚

In a mini-group, the teacher focuses on the students’ specific needs: working through difficult topics, strengthening their knowledge and tailoring their preparation to help them achieve the results they are aiming for 🎯

HOW VIS MAKES LEARNING WORK ACROSS TIME ZONES 🌍🕰️
