A relatively simple but common mistake. Than compares things, but then is all about time.

Hello Fellow Toastmasters!
Here we are with the issue #6 of FTC Grammarian Corner. This week, we will learn about:
- Eminent vs Immanent vs Imminent
- Lose vs Loose

The second set, though seems pretty easy, but their usage is very commonly confused unfortunately.
A quick tip: Lose sounds like snooze (emphasis on Z sound). If you lose something, you don’t have it anymore. For example, you lose a game, lose control, lose your temper, lose your car keys or lose ten pounds in weight.
Loose rhymes with goose and describes something that’s not attached. Like a loose tyre or loose bolt.

Can you please help to complete the following sentences?
1. Neil deGrasse Tyson is an __________ (famous) astrophysicist. _[Eminent/ Immanent/ Imminent]_
2. Philosophers might debate about whether generosity is an _________ (built-in) trait or something that people are taught. _[Eminent/ Immanent/ Imminent]_
3. When careless attitude in serious matters is not corrected timely, a big disaster is ___________ (bound to happen). _[Eminent/ Immanent/ Imminent]_
4. You need self-control to not _____ (let go) your temper. _[Lose/Loose]_
5. One missed catch can make a good team to _________ (not win) a crucial match in cricket. _[Lose/Loose]_
6. We have ________ (missed) an easy argument. _[Lost/Loosed]_
7. A _______ (not secured) electrical connection can cause a fire. _[Lose/Loose]_

Hello, Good morning Toastmasters from FTC Grammarian Corner!
In this week's episode, we will learn about some pronouns and their usage with apostrophe. This might seem bit basic to some readers. But unfortunately this is a very common mistake and can spoil an otherwise very well-written argument or text.
Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments.
Happy learning!
