Here is an example of how to handle an irate, demanding customer on a super busy day whilst working on a Customer Facing Front Desk job.

Kudos to this lady for deflecting a potentially serious situation in to a funny scene, while at the same time driving home her message subtly.

Worth sharing…

The Indians consider the Lotus Flower as sacred. Do you know why? Because it grows in muddy and still ponds, filled with dirt. This flower literally rises above the dirty water to bloom and give out it's beauty and fragrance to the world around. Moreover, it has a "Non-Stick" nature, whereby water droplets automatically slide off the Lotus Flower as well as the Lotus Leaves. All these hold a great significance for human beings which the ancient Hindus of India grasped and hence considered it sacred.

The lessons / messages that the Lotus plant is giving us are:---

1.) Rise beyond your circumstances; Don't keep whining / complaining about what is wrong with your life. Does the Lotus flower ever complain & refuse to blossom because of it's dirty surroundings?

2.) Be detached by the ups & downs of life. Don't get too emotionally attached / involved with people, places, properties, positions, your wealth, etc., which can hinder your growth and fulfillment in life. See how the Lotus flower behaves. It remains in water but does not get wet.!!!!

3.) Give your best to everyone you come across without prejudice for or against people on the basis of their religion, caste, race, gender, financial status etc. See how the Lotus flower radiates it's beauty to every one who picks it. It does not refuse to give it's fragrance to anyone on the basis of their colour, caste or creed, isn't it?

So in conclusion, I would like to say..... " Be like the LOTUS FLOWER" . Here is the story of an American athlete whose shoes were stolen on the day of 1912 Olympics. Read more to know what Jim did with his circumstances......

The Jim Thorpe Story
This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he's wearing different socks and shoes. This wasn't a fashion statement. It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim, represented the U.S. in track and field. On the morning of his competitions, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can. That's the pair that he's wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.
This is a perfect reminder that even when life isn't fair the question is what are you going to do about it today? Whatever you woke up with this morning; stolen shoes, ill health, failed relationships, failed business, don't let it stop you from running your race. You've got an impact to make so get on with living. You can have reasons not to or you can have results...but you can't have both.
