Eight new names now carry a certificate from our classrooms.

On Monday we closed ICAO ATC 051 Batch 02 with a ceremony that also marked the opening of our new branch. Eight professionals crossed the stage: three in Basic Air Traffic Control, one in Aviation English, three in Train the Trainer, and one in Public Speaking.

Congratulations to Aayan Zubair Ahmad, Luke Anthony Skippon, Rooman Ahmadi, Ali Rashed Ali Sultan Alshamsi, Umm E Farwa Abdul Waheed, Abdulla Ali Obaid Mohammad Alary, Ramshad Ali and Abdulla Mohammad Ali Sultan Alshamsi.

A certificate is not the finish line. It is clearance to proceed.

Swipe to meet all eight. Your name could be on the next slide.

Enrolment for the next intake is open. Send us TRAIN and we will share the course brochure today.

مبروك للجميع. الشهادة ليست خط النهاية، بل تصريح للانطلاق.

التسجيل مفتوح للدفعة القادمة. راسلنا بكلمة TRAIN وسنرسل لك الكتيب اليوم.

If you can't visualise the airspace in your head, you're not ready for the radar yet.

The strongest controllers know their airspace like the layout of their own home - every boundary, every transition, every rule.

How did you study airspace structure? Share your method!

Did you know that when a pilot or controller says 'Roger' over the radio, it does NOT mean yes or I agree?

'Roger' is ICAO standard phraseology for 'I have received all of your last transmission.' It simply confirms receipt of a message - nothing more.

If you want to indicate compliance, the correct phrase is 'Wilco' (Will Comply).

Using incorrect phraseology in live ATC communication can cause dangerous misunderstandings. That is why ICAO mandates strict radio communication standards - and why every ATC professional must master them.

ATW Aviation's GCAA-approved training covers standard phraseology, Aviation English, and real-world communication scenarios.

Alpha. Bravo. Charlie. Delta.

You've probably heard them in movies — but in ATC, these words aren't cool jargon. They're a precision safety tool used in every ATC facility on earth.

Here's why the phonetic alphabet exists and why getting it wrong isn't an option.

Can you spell your name in NATO phonetic alphabet? Try it in the comments!

Sending your CV and hearing nothing back? It might not be your experience - it might be your wording.

Did you know that before the global disruptions of 2020, commercial aviation connected over 4.5 billion passengers annually across more than 45,000 routes worldwide?

Every one of those journeys passed through some form of Air Traffic Control - from pushback clearance at departure to landing clearance at destination.

ATC is not just a career. It is the invisible infrastructure that makes global connectivity possible.

As aviation continues to grow, the demand for qualified, GCAA-certified ATC and ATS professionals in the region is increasing steadily.

ATW Aviation is here to train the next generation.

One of the most dangerous moments in aviation doesn't happen in the air — it happens on the ground.

Runway incursions are a leading aviation safety concern globally, and preventing them is one of the most critical responsibilities of every ATC professional.

Here's what they are and how ATC works to prevent them.

Make ALL your mistakes in training — because in operations, there are no second chances.

The students who push hardest in simulation become the calmest controllers in the tower.

Embrace correction. It's how champions are made.

What's the best mistake you learned from during training?

Did you know that the Instrument Landing System (ILS) can guide a commercial aircraft to a safe landing in visibility as low as 50 metres - less than the length of a Boeing 777?

ILS transmits two radio beams: a localiser for lateral alignment and a glideslope for vertical descent - allowing pilots to land with near-zero visual reference.

Air Traffic Controllers play a crucial role in ILS approaches: they sequence and clear aircraft onto the approach path, monitor separation, and communicate critical instructions right up to the threshold.

Understanding instrument approach procedures is part of comprehensive ATC training.

ATW Aviation covers ATS operational procedures including approach control as part of our GCAA-approved programmes.

Before a pilot ever speaks to an ATC controller on approach, they've already listened to a recording that tells them everything they need to know about the airport.

It's called ATIS — and it's one of the smartest workload-reduction tools in aviation.

Here's what it is and why every pilot tunes in before landing.

Aviation enthusiasts — have you ever listened to an ATIS broadcast?
