In Part 3, Ky. Col. Prof. Dr. Edward Roy Krishnan addresses one of the most persistent challenges in higher education: the growing gap between what is taught at university and what is actually needed in the workplace.
He highlights an important shift in thinking. Universities cannot simply build curricula internally and expect industry to adapt. We need to listen to industry, understand what is happening in the field, and bring those realities into education.
But there is an even bigger challenge: by the time students graduate, the world they were prepared for may already have changed.
That means future-ready education cannot focus only on transferring subject knowledge. In a world shaped by AI, technology, information, and constant change, universities must prepare students to think, adapt, learn continuously, and navigate complexity.
The question is no longer simply: “What should students know?”
It is: “How do we prepare students for a world we cannot fully predict?”
