Dubai Medical University proudly highlights the international academic contribution of Prof. Naglaa Shehab, Professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, College of Pharmacy, who was invited as a guest speaker by UTA’45 Jakarta to deliver an online lecture on the Structure–Activity Relationship (SAR) and Bioactivity of Natural Products. The session engaged pharmacy students in exploring how the structural characteristics of natural products influence their pharmacological activity and therapeutic potential. The interactive lecture fostered meaningful discussions in phytochemistry and pharmacognosy, concluding with an engaging Kahoot assessment to reinforce learning outcomes.

DMU College of Pharmacy hosted a Faculty Development Session on “Maintaining Research Integrity: Preventing Retractions and Avoiding Predatory Journals,” presented by Dr. Hanan Anbar, Associate Professor and Chair of the Institutional Review Board at DMU. The session explored key topics including research integrity, causes of article retraction, identifying predatory journals, publishing risks associated with journal indexing changes, and emerging research quality metrics. The interactive discussion provided valuable insights and practical strategies to support ethical and high-quality scholarly publishing, reinforcing DMU’s commitment to academic excellence and research integrity.

Dubai Medical University proudly celebrates the scholarly achievement of Dr. Naglaa Saad Ashmawy, Head of the Integrative Medicine Department and Assistant Dean for Quality & Accreditation, College of Pharmacy, and DMU alumna Ms. Jumana Haider Al-Anssari on the publication of their book chapter, “Aromatic and Essential Oil Plants in Physical and Mental Well-Being,” by Springer Nature. Published in *Plant-Based Solutions for Sustainable Agriculture and Healthcare*, the chapter explores the therapeutic potential of essential oils and aromatic plants, highlighting their role in supporting physical and mental well-being through evidence-based applications in stress management, cognitive function, mood enhancement, and overall quality of life.

Dubai Medical University’s College of Pharmacy proudly congratulates Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of the Master of Clinical Pharmacy (M.Pharm) Program, on his appointment to the Research Collaboration & Impact Working Group of the Arab Network for Interprofessional Collaboration (ANIC). This appointment reflects DMU’s growing contribution to advancing interprofessional education and collaborative practice research across the Arab region. Through this role, Dr. El Ouweini will support regional research initiatives, foster academic and healthcare partnerships, and contribute to strengthening interprofessional learning and innovation aligned with regional healthcare priorities.

DMU College of Pharmacy proudly highlights the successful delivery of a DHA-accredited CME seminar on Adjunct Therapies in Septic Shock Management by Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Held at Dubai Medical University Hospital as part of the HEAL initiative, the seminar brought together physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and faculty members for an evidence-based discussion on emerging approaches to septic shock management, including vasopressor optimization, corticosteroid therapy, fluid management, biomarker-guided treatment, and the latest international guideline updates.
