Dubai Medical University’s DPCSU-IPSF continues to make a mark on the international stage as Afra Abdul Aziz secured second place in the IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students’​ Federation T-Shirt Design Competition. The competition, which invited pharmacy students from around the world, challenged participants to create designs that reflect the core values and essence of the pharmacy profession.
This achievement highlights the creativity and global engagement of DMU’s pharmacy students, reinforcing their commitment to professional excellence and innovation.

The recognition was announced on February 21, 2025, further strengthening DPCSU-IPSF’s presence on international platforms and showcasing the talent within Dubai Medical University’s College of Pharmacy.

Green February at Dubai Medical University – College of Pharmacy! 🌿

Dubai Medical University – College of Pharmacy students continue the series of awareness sessions as part of “Green February: Educate, Engage, Empower.”

This initiative, a collaboration between the Green and Sustainable Pharmacy course and Community Engagement, is more than just an awareness campaign—it’s an opportunity for our students to make a real impact. Throughout February, they will continue leading sessions across pharmacies, schools, and our campus, spreading awareness about sustainability in pharmacy practice.

Highlights of Series 5:
The main highlight of this project is teaching students about the lifecycle of a medicine bottle, from creation to a disposal or recycling. It focuses on sustainability and waste management, encouraging eco-friendly choices like recycling and proper disposal to reduce environmental impact.

A big thank you to Dubai National School for hosting us and to everyone who contributed to making this awareness campaign a success!

Dubai Medical University - College of Pharmacy Students Attend the 8th UAE International Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (ICAMR 2025)

Dubai Medical University - College of Pharmacy students had the opportunity to attend the 8th UAE International Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (ICAMR 2025), held on February 21-22, 2025, at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel DIFC, Dubai.

This conference provides an invaluable learning experience for pharmacy students, exposing them to the latest advancements in antimicrobial research, clinical practices, and global strategies to combat resistance. Attending scientific presentations and interactive discussions allows students to:

✅ Enhance their knowledge of antimicrobial resistance and its implications in healthcare

Dubai Medical University - College of Pharmacy Actively Participates in NaPhCo 2025

The College of Pharmacy at Dubai Medical University participated in the National Pharmacist Conference (NaPhCo) 2025, held on February 22nd and 23rd at Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan, Dubai.

Dr. Abdallah El-Kindi - president of the Emirates Pharmacy Society inaugurated the conference, setting the stage for a series of insightful sessions. Our faculty members, along with fourth-year students, actively engaged in the event, presenting posters and attending informative sessions led by experts like Dr. Osama Tabara. This conference provided valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and advancements in the field of pharmacy.

Dubai Medical University College of Pharmacy Participates in the Empowering Women Forum

Dr. Semira Beshir represented Dubai Medical University at the Empowering Women forum, organized by the Ethiopian Women Association in Dubai and the Northern Emirates under the Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai. The event took place on February 21, 2025, at Corniche Hotel in Sharjah.

The forum provided a platform to share experiences, inspire women to strive for success, and emphasize the importance of ambition and resilience. Dr. Semira Beshir highlighted her journey, encouraging others to aim higher while expressing gratitude to the Almighty, mentors, family, and the community who have supported her along the way.

Under the supervision of Dr. Rana Sammour, students Huda Al Nauimi and Sheikha Al Saffar took part in insightful discussions on sustainability and its impact on the UAE, highlighting the crucial role of youth in driving innovation for a more sustainable future.
The students contributed their innovative ideas to the conversation, emphasizing ways to support their community and country through sustainable initiatives. On February 12, 2025, Dubai Medical University, College of Pharmacy, had the honor of hosting Dr. Saad Sultan, Dr. Mohammad Siddiqui, and Dr. Omar Al Soukhni from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi for the inauguration of the Sterile Compounding Lab.

Our students had the opportunity to engage with our esteemed guests, demonstrate their lab skills, and discuss sterile product preparation. The event fostered valuable learning, collaboration, and professional development.

Dr. Saad Sultan expressed his admiration for DMU’s dedication to pharmacy education, highlighting the state-of-the-art simulation labs, advanced compounding training facilities, and cutting-edge technology that support quality assurance and real-time feedback.
