GEMS Modern Academy

In Week 6, GEMS Modern Academy students represented the school in two Round Square sessions, exploring global themes of sustainability and innovation.
In the Geography Lab, they presented a case study on Norway’s hydropower sector, focusing on renewable energy and sustainable development. In the Zoom Postcard Session, they explored Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) used in the Dubai Metro, highlighting its impact on modern transportation and its challenges.
Congratulations to all participating students for their confident representation and global engagement.

15 students and 3 teachers successfully completed a challenging expedition and summited Vijay Top; demonstrating exceptional teamwork, resilience, and determination.

Week 4 of Round Square saw our students engaging in the meaningful global conversation on sustainability, culture, and artificial intelligence with peers across the world. Their participation reflected confidence, curiosity and a growing sense of global responsibility.

From learning healthy habits that protect our eyes, to discovering foods that support better vision, students walked away with valuable tips to keep their eyes happy and healthy. Ms. Sana also helped students understand when it’s important to seek support if they notice any concerns with their eyesight.
An informative, interactive question and answer, and fun session that reminded us all to look after the eyes that help us see the world! 🌍💙

Week 3 of Round Square saw our students exploring humanitarian challenges, climate resilience, rivers, and coastal communities with peers across the world.
Their active participation reflected leadership, global awareness, and learning beyond the classroom.
