Today, The Center for Learning Innovations and Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS) and VisionAID formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a strategic partnership to support higher education development, institutional transformation, capacity building, and innovation in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and beyond.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Narimane Hadj-Hamou, Founder and CEO of CLICKS, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Ahmed, CEO of VisionAID.

The partnership brings together VisionAID’s expertise in development programming, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation with CLICKS’ experience in higher education consulting, quality assurance, leadership development, strategic planning, student success, research, and innovation in teaching and learning.

Through this collaboration, both organizations will create new opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development, research, and institutional strengthening while supporting universities and organizations in addressing current challenges and preparing for future opportunities.

Today marked the launch of the first module of the Advancing AI Integration in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Certificate Program, designed and delivered by CLICKS for Al Akhawayn University in .

The program provides a structured and institution-wide approach to embedding AI meaningfully across teaching, learning, curriculum design, assessment, and graduate outcomes. Rather than focusing solely on AI tools, the program aims to help faculty and academic leaders rethink how learning is designed, delivered, and assessed in an AI-enabled world.

At the heart of the program is the Dual Intelligence Design Model, which emphasizes that effective learning in the age of AI is not about replacing human intelligence with artificial intelligence. Rather, it is about intentionally combining the strengths of both. While AI can support efficiency, personalization, and access to knowledge, human intelligence remains essential for critical thinking, creativity, ethical reasoning, judgment, collaboration, and meaning-making.

The certificate consists of 12 interconnected modules organized around four pillars:

🔹 AI Across the Curriculum – Building Coherent and Progressive AI Skills

Participants examined through this first module how AI is reshaping course design and learning experiences, explored the evolving role of faculty in AI-enabled environments, considered the application of Dual Intelligence principles in course design, discussed the distinction between AI-supported and human-centered learning tasks, and reviewed practical approaches to redesigning syllabi and learning activities for the age of AI.

The level of engagement, reflection, and discussion throughout the session was inspiring. We look forward to continuing this journey with colleagues at Al Akhawayn University as we explore how AI can be integrated responsibly and thoughtfully to enhance learning, strengthen critical thinking, and prepare graduates for an increasingly AI-enabled future.

Today, we had the pleasure of delivering an engaging online workshop titled “Closing the Loop: From Program Assessment Data to Sustainable Curriculum Improvement”, facilitated by our Executive Director of Knowledge Solutions, Mokhtar Benhadria at .

The workshop brought together higher education professionals for a highly interactive and practice-oriented discussion focused on strengthening program assessment processes and moving beyond compliance-driven approaches toward meaningful improvement and sustainability.

The program explored key areas including common pitfalls in program assessment, designing authentic and outcomes-based assessment strategies, interpreting assessment data through evidence-based approaches, and aligning curriculum, teaching, and assessment with intended learning outcomes. A particular emphasis was placed on the critical “Closing the Loop” phase — transforming assessment findings into actionable interventions that drive curriculum enhancement, continuous improvement, and long-term institutional effectiveness.
