Education Malaysia Dubai was delighted to organize a special Networking Lunch connecting Malaysian academics, researchers, and lecturers from the University of Sharjah, alongside a visiting delegation from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), with the Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai, Mr. Riaz Abdul Razak.

Held on 10 September 2026, the session served as a vital platform to strengthen professional networks, exchange strategic insights in higher education, and explore future collaborative academic ventures between Malaysian institutions and the UAE.

Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai, Mr. Riaz Abdul Razak made an official visit to the University of Sharjah to meet with Chancellor Professor Esameldin Agamy.

The bilateral meeting focused on expanding higher education collaboration between Malaysia and the University of Sharjah, paving the way for future student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, and strategic academic partnerships.

The Consul General also presented reference publications on international relations terminology in both English–Malay and Arabic–Malay to the University to enrich resources for students and researchers.

Education Malaysia Dubai was deeply honoured to participate in a high-level meeting with Mr. David Pierre, the Minister of Education and Human Resource Development of the Republic of Seychelles.

Successfully coordinated by Mr. Kabilan Muniandy (Honorary Consul of Seychelles to Malaysia), the productive session explored future academic partnerships and strategic student mobility initiatives between Malaysia and Seychelles. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Aniff M. Fauzi (Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Harare), reinforcing the strong diplomatic and educational ties between the two nations.

Representative from EM Dubai, alongside an esteemed delegation of Malaysian Universities, were honoured to conduct an official visit to the Careers and Further Education Agency (CaFEA) in Victoria, Seychelles.

The meeting with CaFEA’s CEO, Ms. Françoise Mein, was seamlessly coordinated by the Honorary Consul of Seychelles in Malaysia, Mr. Kabilan Muniandy, reinforcing the strong diplomatic and educational ties between our nations.

As the national body responsible for managing career guidance pathways, further education structures, and government scholarship schemes, CaFEA serves as a vital bridge between students and global opportunities.

Discussions centered around expanding global student mobility, aligning university programs with national workforce needs, and providing robust academic pathways that support Seychelles’ human resource development priorities.

Education Malaysia Dubai led by Mr. Hairul Abdul Karim, Consul of Education coordinated a courtesy call for the delegation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with H.E. Tengku Dato’ Sirajuzzaman Tengku Mohammed Ariffin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the UAE, at the Embassy of Malaysia in Abu Dhabi.

The engagement took place alongside UTM’s official working visit to the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) to discuss academic quality assurance and strengthen strategic higher education partnerships in the region.

The session was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaid bin Omar (Director of Local and Global Outreach, SRAD, UTM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diaya Ud Deen Deab Mahmoud Al Zitawi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurazmallail Bin Marni.

Mr Johan Arief, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Embassy of Malaysia in Lebanon, had the honour of having a video conference with Mr Hairul Abdul Karim, Education Consul, and Mr Luqman Nurhakim Jainon, Education Vice Consul, Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai, covering Lebanon.

The discussion focused on issues of mutual interest, particularly on strengthening educational cooperation between Malaysia and Lebanon, including opportunities for academic collaboration, student mobility, and institutional linkages.

The meeting also explored potential initiatives to further connect Malaysian and Lebanese higher education institutions and expand opportunities for students and academics from both countries.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut remains committed to promoting stronger education ties between Malaysia and Lebanon and exploring opportunities for further cooperation in the higher education sector.
