Some seasons bring classroom chatter and hallway hugs. Others bring headphones and tiny faces in little squares.
With the start of distance learning, I always make time for mental check-ins with my students and with myself. I remind them that memories can be anchors during uncertain times… little pockets of joy we can revisit when things feel heavy.
Today, I’m holding on to the smiles and the magic that face-to-face learning brought me… and still brings me. 🍎❤️
Teaching may look different right now, but the heart behind it never changes.

I can say I’m blessed… but am I actually living like I believe it?

Ignore my classroom lights 😭 the lighting in my room is fighting against me every single day.
But besides that… first day back in the classroom and not much has changed. New routines, new energy, and a classroom full of little personalities ready to keep me on my toes for the rest of the year!

First day back in the classroom and my heart is full. From the hugs at the door to the little “I missed yous,” to diving right into learning like we never skipped a beat… today was equal parts chaos, laughter, and pure purpose.

I had my students dreaming it up, so I had to reflect too. At 100, I see myself sitting in a rocking chair, eating Betty Crocker, watching the clock go tick tok.

100 days smarter and celebrating in style! 🎉 My amazing 3rd graders dressed up as 100-year-olds today and absolutely nailed it. From grey wigs to canes and suspenders, they committed to the bit! We counted to 100 in math, wrote about living to 100 in writing, and built 100-day STEM challenges. So proud of how far these learners have come since day 1. Here’s to the next 100 days of learning and growing together! 💯👵🏽👴🏾

Overalls today. Overalls forever. 💛
Story time because this outfit unlocked a core memory. When I was younger, my mom accidentally bleached every single pair of my overalls. Tragic. Heartbreaking. Fashion trauma.
But look at me now. Grown. Teaching. Still choosing overalls.
