يصعب على الآباء معرفة ما إذا كانت سلوكيات أطفالهم طبيعية مثل باقي الأطفال، أم إن تلك السلوكيات نابعة من اضطراب ما في وظائف عمل الدماغ، كاضطراب فرط الحركة وتشتت الانتباه، لذا فيما يلي نستعرض أهم أعراض فرط الحركة وتشتت الانتباه عند الأطفال، ليسهل عليهم التعامل سريعًا مع أي أعراض قد تظهر على أطفالهم:-

يُلاحظ على الطفل كثرة الحركة.
عدم الانتباه والتركيز لحديث من يحاوره، وكذلك عدم التركيز عند القيام بأمر ما.
كذلك يُلاحظ عليه الاندفاعية والتهور في سلوكياته.
عدم الصبر والانتظار كثيرًا حتى يأتي دوره في الكلام، أو في الصف.
ضعف التحصيل الدراسي له، فلا يهتم بتحصيل دروسه، ولا يفهم المراد من شرح المعلم، وذلك يكون لعدم تركيزه الشديد.
عدم الاستماع الجيد لحديث من يخاطبه، وذلك يرجع لعدم تركيز الطفل، وليس لوجود مشكلة في حاسة السمع.
