“They called my feet ugly.”
I call them beautifully imperfect. 🤍

This is what Spinal Muscular Atrophy looks like on my feet.

These feet were shaped by muscles getting weaker.
They don’t walk like everyone else’s.
They don’t balance like everyone else’s.
They fall. They hurt. They struggle.

But here’s what you cannot see in a picture
They still walk. They have carried me through a life that has never been physically easy.

They carried me after every fall.
Through pain. Through weakness.
Through days when even a few steps felt like a victory.

The pain is there 24/7.
Some days it whispers. Some days it screams.
But so does my gratitude.
Because through all that pain, these feet still carry me.

So please, look at them again.
Don’t look for beauty.
Look at what survived.

I call them the feet that kept carrying me when my muscles couldn’t promise me tomorrow.

And I will never be ashamed of them again.

For every step they still give me
Alhamdulillah. Always. 😍

Some patterns were never really you.
They were survival responses passed down, repeated, and normalised until they started feeling like your personality.

Healing is not about blaming the generations before you. It’s about becoming aware of what you’re carrying — and deciding what ends with you.

You can honour where you come from without carrying everything that came with it.

And if you feel ready to explore these patterns in a safe space, I’m here to support you through a 1:1 session. 🤍

Dear July, you’re taking a little more from my body, but never my gratitude. Alhumdulillah. 💜 Some seasons ask more from us than others.

This month has been especially draining for my muscles, and there were days when even the smallest things took extra effort. But every day I’m still here, still moving, still believing, and still finding reasons to say Alhamdulillah.

Sometimes the biggest victory is simply not giving up.

Some souls don’t speak our language… yet they teach us the purest form of love. Today, my niece lost her baby pet Coton de Tuléar 💔

I’ve never really been someone who gets close to pets. Living with a physical condition, I’ve always been scared that if they jumped on me, I could fall and get hurt.

So I always admired him from a distance.

But without even realizing it, I became attached to seeing him around the house. His little presence became part of our life. It’s strange how someone can become such a part of your home, and you only truly feel it when they’re gone.

Rest peacefully, beautiful angel. Thank you for the love you brought into our lives. 🤍🐾

Next time you feel anxious, remind yourself of this:

Anxiety isn’t the enemy. It’s your nervous system trying to protect you.Healing doesn’t mean you’ll never feel anxious again. It means your body learns that it’s safe enough to recover more quickly.

Be patient with yourself. Healing is progress, not perfection. 🤍

💬 What helps your nervous system feel safe when you’re feeling anxious?

Living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) means progress isn’t measured in giant leaps. Sometimes it’s standing a little stronger, moving with a little more confidence, or doing something today that once felt impossible. 😍

Improvement looks different for everyone and I’m proud of every step. 🦾🦾🦾

This morning at 5:40 AM, I slipped in my bathroom and fell. For most people, a fall is painful.

For me, it’s the question…
“How am I going to get up?”

Because I live with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and I live alone, there isn’t anyone there to help lift me. It took me almost an hour to drag myself from the bathroom to my couch.

Every movement hurt.

I was scared to put pressure on my arms because they’re already under so much strain. Being on my knees wasn’t any easier, but I had no choice except to keep dragging myself to the couch.
People often think the hardest part of SMA is walking.

Sometimes, it’s lying on the floor, knowing your body wants to get up… but simply can’t. Falls don’t end when you finally get up. They leave pain that can take days or even weeks to settle, and with SMA, recovering from a fall isn’t as simple as resting for a day.

This is the part of SMA most people never see.

But today, I made it.

One push.
One breath.
One inch at a time. 🤍
