A group of nine Real Estate students from Heriot‑Watt University Dubai recently visited CBRE Middle East headquarters in Downtown Dubai for an immersive industry engagement session, accompanied by Matt Myers, MAI, FRICS, Assistant Professor and Programme Lead. Representing both undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts, students gained valuable insight into the operations of the world’s largest real estate services firm through an introduction to CBRE’s regional business lines and an interactive panel with directors across research, consulting, hospitality, and valuation.
The visit reflects the strength of our undergraduate Real Estate programme and its emphasis on work‑based learning, giving students meaningful exposure to industry practice and professional pathways. The session also led to immediate outcomes, with students exploring internship and graduate opportunities, and one student progressing to the next stage of selection. With networking opportunities alongside CBRE professionals, alumni, and interns, the visit further strengthened the University’s partnership with industry, supporting our commitment to preparing graduates for successful careers in the real estate sector
