Join the WORLD RUSSIAN LANGUAGE CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 — an international competition for learners of the Russian language to test their knowledge of the language, history, and culture! 🇷🇺

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS
• How to Register: assemble a team of 4 members, 1 mentor (aged 21+) and 3 participants aged 16-35 (Non-Russian citizens), then register on the website https://russianchampionship.com, and complete the required tasks.
• Deadline for Stage 1: Teams must register and complete the required tasks on the official website by October 1, 2026.
• Championship Working Language: Russian.
• Participation is free

The Championship is organized by FSBI «Interobrazovanie» with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

Teams compete in one of three categories:
▶️ Foreign participants by regional segments
▶️ Participants from CIS countries, Abkhazia, Transnistria, and South Ossetia
▶️ Foreign participants studying at Russian higher education institutions

Based on the final rankings, the top 30 teams (10 from each category) will be invited to the in-person final in Moscow on November 20–22, 2026. The organizer provides round-trip travel to Russia, visa support, accommodation, and meals.

Championship winners may receive quota spots for free education at Russian universities.

Last week, our bachelor’s students Dmitrii Filimonov, Mikhail Kanakhin, Lev Burikov, and Marina Tikhonova played an active role in organizing and supporting the 2026 edition of EventMania.

There, they got a first-hand look at what goes into building business relationships and bringing a professional event to life. At EventMania, they helped register guests, welcome representatives from different companies, and guide participants throughout the networking event.

Join the World Russian Language Championship 2026!

WHAT IS THE WORLD RUSSIAN LANGUAGE CHAMPIONSHIP? 🇷🇺
It is an international competition for learners of the Russian language to test their knowledge of the language, history, and culture. It is organized by the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Education Development and International Activity (“Interobrazovanie”)” with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

👥 WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
• Teams of 4: 1 mentor (aged 21+) and 3 participants aged 16-35
• Open To: All non-Russian citizens aged 16–35 who speak the Russian language and want to put their knowledge to the test
• Championship Working Language: Russian
• Participation is free

1️⃣ QUALIFYING STAGE
The qualifying stage has already begun and will continue until October 1, 2026. It includes language tests, portfolio uploads, and creative tasks which are available on the website. Interested individuals must register their team and complete the required tasks before the deadline.

2️⃣ FINAL STAGE
The final will take place in Moscow from November 19 to 23, 2026. The organizers cover round-trip travel to the Russian Federation, visa support, accommodation, and meals during the final. Qualified participants will enjoy competitive tasks, various activities, and excursion programs.

🏆 GRAND PRIZE
The winning team receive the title of World Russian Language Champion, a trophy, and the opportunity to study at Russian higher education institutions free of charge!

Plekhanov University at UNESCO Digital Learning Week 2026

As artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes how we learn, work, and create knowledge, education must evolve while preserving its role as a common good. Plekhanov University is once again joining UNESCO Digital Learning Week, represented by Dr. Svetlana Malkarova, Director of the Dubai branch. The event is taking place from September 8 to 11, 2026, under the theme “Education in the age of AI: Facts | Frictions | Frontiers,” and is being held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.

This year’s edition brings together more than 1,000 participants, including over 25 ministers of education, high-level experts, representatives of the tech industry, educators, and students from around the world at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, with thousands more participating online.
