A peek into our first week back at The House of Learning ✨
From tracing letters on the whiteboard to emergent writing, colour-by-number recycling activities and phonics floor games — every moment in our space is intentionally designed to build school readiness from the ground up 🌱
Our little learners are developing:
✏️ Fine motor skills & pencil grip
📖 Early literacy & letter formation
🔤 Phonemic awareness & CVC word recognition
🎨 Colour & number identification
🌍 Environmental awareness & critical thinking
Play is never just play here — it’s purposeful, it’s joyful, and it’s laying the foundation for lifelong learning 💚
We believe that when children feel safe, seen, and stimulated, they flourish 🌿

Happy Earth Day 🌍💚

Today is all about helping our beautiful planet!

Here’s how we can make a difference together:
• Turn off lights when we leave a room.
• Use less water—turn off the tap while brushing.
• Put rubbish in the bin and recycle .
• Be kind to nature, don’t pick flowers or disturb animals.

Small hands can make a big difference.
Happy Earth Day.

Behind every confident child is a mother who never stopped believing, loving, and giving, even on the hardest days.

Today, we celebrate you. 💛

Have you ever tried painting ice?
It’s cold, and it’s slippery, and really good fun!🧊🎨

We painted ice cubes, cold in our hands,
With dots and with drips and colourful plans.

The colours slid slowly, then started to glide,
Trickling and twirling right down the side.

Red met blue and purple appeared,💜
Yellow joined in and everyone cheered!

As the ice began melting, the colours ran free,
Making splashy surprises for us to see.

“Again!” said the children with big, happy grins
Ice painting is where the fun begins!✨

Our morning started with making everyone’s favourite hot cocoa.☕

It’s winter, and on cold days there is nothing more comforting.
The children took over the table, each with their own idea of how it should be done.
It was busy, messy, and exactly right for the day.

☃️We welcomed our parents into our Winter Wonderland, where they could reminisce about nursery school days and share in the festive fun! Parents joined us for a joyful morning, taking part in our children’s performances, creating gingerbread houses, enjoying arts and crafts, and even meeting Santa himself! Our nursery and foundation children proudly led their concerts, while our toddlers and babies enjoyed a cheerful group circle time. It was a magical celebration full of laughter, creativity, and holiday cheer for everyone! ❄️🎶

Sensory play plays a key role in early brain and neurological development. When children touch, move, pour, squeeze, and explore materials, neural connections are formed and strengthened through real, physical experience.

These activities support coordination, language processing, focus, and self-regulation, while helping the brain integrate sensory information effectively. Repetition and open-ended exploration allow children to organise their responses to the world around them.

There is no set outcome. The value lies in the process. ✨

Playdough cutting was today’s focus. It’s practical: it strengthens the hand, sharpens control, and prepares children to handle real tools with confidence. ✂️🤎

🦋 We’ve been exploring patterns in our environment, noticing colours around us, and understanding how primary colours blend into secondary ones. To bring this learning into real experience, we visited the Butterfly Garden — a place where colour and movement are impossible to ignore.

The visit offered an unexpected highlight: we watched a caterpillar emerge from its chrysalis and become a butterfly. The children stood quietly, taking in a transformation they had only seen in books. It tied beautifully to our reading of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and gave the story a new kind of meaning. 🐛
