Expressions: 2024-Students of Grade-4 Advocate for Environmental Awareness
Students of grade-4 hosted a thought-provoking event titled "Planet vs. Plastic," aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation and the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on our planet. With captivating performances including yoga, skits, dances, songs, and an educational quiz, students not only entertained but also enlightened parents about the urgent need to protect our environment.
The students enthralled the audience with an inspiring showcase of yoga poses inspired by the beauty and harmony of the natural world. The skit segment vividly depicted the impact of plastic pollution on our planet, portraying Earth's struggle against the invasion of plastic waste. Accompanied by soulful melodies, students serenaded the audience with a song advocating for a cleaner, greener planet. The quiz served as an educational tool, empowering attendees with the knowledge of their carbon footprint and motivation to make informed choices and take meaningful action in their daily lives. Following the song, the stage pulsated with energy as students performed environmentally-themed dances choreographed to inspire change. In conclusion, the "Planet vs. Plastic" event was a resounding success, shining a spotlight on the urgent need for environmental awareness and action. We hope that the performances of the students not only entertained but also inspired parents to join the fight against plastic pollution and safeguard the future of our planet.

"Ban every form of plastic before the plastic bans every form of life on Earth," -Sir P.S. Jagadeesh Kumar.
Recognizing the persistent threat that plastic poses to our planet, the students of grade 3 took a proactive step to raise awareness among parents about the dangers of excessive plastic use. Through our event 'Expressions,' the students combined music, dance, yoga, and short skits to depict everyday scenarios, illustrating how plastic consumption endangers human health and the environment.
The students creatively portrayed the emotions of Mother Earth, highlighting her sadness and distress when humans disregard the planet's wellbeing. The performance concluded with a powerful song, emphasizing the message that "Earth is my home and we need to keep it healthy and beautiful." In the finale, Mother Earth made a heartfelt plea to the audience, urging everyone to take better care of the planet, promising blessings for future generations in return.

World Environment Day
On the occasion of World Environment Day, ASDians, this new academic year and term, have achieved some great goals. Be it raising awareness, or diving into recycling campaigns, thereby stopping our waste ending up in the landfill, our Eco-Warriors are all around to do the needful to repair the damages done to the planet. Let us join hands with our youth and collaboratively work towards cleaning up the world, making it a better and a healthier home to share with all, who are 'Earthians'.

Waste Paper Collection and E-Waste Collection Campaign for Recycling
Ambassador School in Dubai recently organized two significant environmental initiatives: A Waste Paper Recycling Campaign and an E-Waste Recycling Campaign.
The Waste Paper Recycling Campaign was a month long event that focused on reducing paper waste within the school. Students and staff were encouraged to bring in used paper from home and deposit it in designated collection bins placed around the school campus. The campaign successfully collected over 3500 kilograms of waste paper, which was sent to a certified local recycling company. The initiative helped in saving numerous trees and reducing the school's carbon footprint. Moreover, it fostered a culture of recycling and environmental responsibility among students and staff.
The E-Waste Recycling Campaign, season 2 aimed at addressing the growing concern of electronic waste. This campaign spanned a month again. E-Waste Collection points were set up at the entrance of the main campus where students, parents, and staff could drop off their old and used electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and batteries. The E-Waste Recycling Campaign gathered over 400 kilograms of electronic waste, which was handed over to certified e-waste recyclers for safe disposal and recycling. The campaign raised significant awareness about the environmental impact of e-waste and the importance of responsible consumption and disposal of electronic devices.
Both the Waste Paper and E-Waste Recycling Campaigns at Ambassador School, Dubai, were highly successful in achieving their goals. The school appreciated all its Eco-Ambassadors by rewarding them with an E-certificate for their valuable contribution.
They not only contributed to environmental conservation but also educated and inspired the school community to adopt sustainable practices. The positive response and active participation indicate a growing commitment to environmental stewardship within the school setting a commendable example to follow in the pursuit of a greener future.

World Environment Day
The popular saying that promises are made to be broken, is no longer a joke to enjoy or a quote made carelessly, especially given the time and the world we live in present times. With news of disasters and destruction coming from all corners of the world, our promises made for restoration of the world need serious attention and endeavours to fulfill them. This world Environment Day, our focus is on land restoration, stopping desertification, and building drought resilience under the slogan “Our land, Our future.’
We are nurturing the Restoration.” Our students of Grades 1 and 2 got the insight into the importance of saving Mother Earth and recited a Pledge to keep their environment sustainable and restore the Earth. Our hopes are high and greatly have faith in the Generation Restoration will eventually be successful, fulfilling their pledge for a better world, a greater future and harmonious living for all.

“If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.” Bishop T.D. Jakes
ASD’s extracurricular activities under the ASPIRE program reveal so many human emotions. The passion to dive in, the desire to ace the skills, the determination to reach the targets and above all balance the aspirations of many kind, academic and non-academic pursuits with equal fervour, lest one falling behind, make one lose the other one too. ASPIRE students are little teachers themselves as they teach their adults so many new lessons, unknown to their parents and teachers. It is thus the time when both the coaches and the trainees share a partnership on grit and determination; while one is determined to transfer the skills, the other is determined to fulfill the targets. Enjoy our Aspire video that brings you the glimpses of such a beautiful partnership between the teachers and the taught outside classroom, beyond books and notebooks………..

Awards –appreciation and motivation are the two sides of the same coin. Appreciating children for their efforts and endeavours, for making their alma mater proud is another way to boost them for even more greater outcomes. The special assembly today was held to appreciate all those extraordinary achievers who have done exemplary work in numerous challenges in different competitions and on varied platforms. Students came on stage, and received the certificates/medals/trophies from their beloved Principal, Dr. Sheela Menon before a large crowd of ASDians peers, juniors and seniors. Loud applause from the school mates and teachers was a moment of pride as they stood as inspiration for many more to walk their path. Explore the Café @ STREAM classes@ ASD
Teaching the importance of food for sustenance to first-grade students is crucial for laying the groundwork for their understanding of nutrition and overall well-being.
The activity commenced with a happy café song inspiring the students to get started with the activity. They discussed about the importance of food and how it is important for the growth and sustenance of living beings. The students were then asked to imagine themselves as chefs of an imaginary café “Merry Munchies” and build variety of food items for the café using LEGO Math Café set. Creativity and team work were the skills that were unleashed as every group designed a special menu and food items for their café.
After building the food items they were asked to design an advertising poster for their café. As students dived into designing posters, creativity became their guiding force, igniting a journey of innovation and expression.
The math was integrated in the lesson too. Thus, by instilling foundational concepts early on,we empower the first-grade students to make informed decisions about their diet and set the stage for a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
