Being You Day at JBS!

At JBS, we believe that every student should feel proud to be themselves.

As part of our wellbeing initiative, students were invited to come to school dressed in clothing that represented who they are and what makes them feel happy, comfortable and confident. From favourite colours and cultural dress, creative outfits and personal styles, the day was a wonderful celebration of individuality and self-expression.

Being You Day reminded us that our differences are what make our community so special, creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to be their authentic selves.

Congratulations to Laila on her fantastic university acceptances!

With a passion for the humanities and social sciences, Laila is pursuing a pre-law pathway, where she hopes to explore history, political science and public policy while deepening her understanding of the forces that shape our world.

Reflecting on her journey, Laila shares:

Our Specialist Provision class, the Penguins, enjoyed a fantastic Adopt a Pet Day workshop, kindly organised by one of our parents.

The students had the opportunity to learn about different animals, explore what they need to stay happy and healthy, and understand the importance of caring for pets responsibly. It was a fun, interactive and memorable learning experience for everyone involved.

A huge thank you for creating such a thoughtful and engaging workshop for our students!

Congratulations to Anton on his acceptance to Maastricht University in the Netherlands, where he will be studying Global Law.

Driven by a passion for critical thinking and a desire to tackle complex challenges, Anton has chosen a path that reflects both his curiosity and determination. Reflecting on his time at JBS, he shares:

The much-anticipated Secondary Aquaventure Trip was the perfect way to celebrate the end of another fantastic school year!

Students enjoyed an action-packed day filled with thrilling water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and plenty of laughter with friends. It was a well-deserved opportunity to relax, make lasting memories, and celebrate all they had achieved throughout the year.

After 15 years as part of the JBS community, Cameron is preparing to study Mathematics and Statistics, building on the analytical thinking, resilience and problem-solving skills developed throughout his IB journey.

Reflecting on his time at JBS, Cameron shared:
"I can truly say that my time at JBS has played a major role in shaping the person that I am today. Whether through teachers who always encouraged and challenged me, friends from all walks of life who grew alongside me, or the support and campus staff who helped create such a welcoming environment, every part of this community has left an indelible mark on who I am today.
I have chosen to study Mathematics and Statistics at university, where I will build on the analytical and problem-solving skills that I developed through the IB. I am excited to explore a field that can be used to understand, quantify, and help overcome some of the world's most multifaceted challenges. I am incredibly grateful for my time at JBS and for the foundation it has given me for the next chapter."

Step Up Day was all about looking ahead!
Towards the end of term, our Early Years and Primary students enjoyed a fantastic Step Up Day, where every class had the opportunity to spend time in the grade above. From exploring their new classrooms, meeting new teachers and getting to know future classmates, it was an exciting glimpse into the next stage of their learning journey.

The day was filled with fun, curiosity, confidence, and plenty of smiles as students embraced new experiences and looked forward to the year ahead. We can't wait to see them continue to grow, thrive, and shine in their new classes!

Congratulations to Hind, who has been part of the JBS community since 2014, on her acceptance to study Art, Media and Technology at Parsons School of Design Paris, along with securing a prestigious scholarship offer.
