Dubai Heights Academy is an officially registered London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Examination Centre, and next month we are delighted to host our very first LAMDA examinations.
These graded qualifications help students develop confidence, clear communication, performance skills and self-expression. Depending on their chosen pathway, students may be assessed in acting, musical theatre, speaking verse and prose, reading for performance, public speaking or devised drama.
To support their preparation, our students recently took to the stage during the Key Stage 3 assembly to perform their pieces in front of an audience.

Ellien will perform her Grade 4 Acting Solo, Two Billion Beats, as Betina, who is bullied on the bus for her pocket money. After speaking with her sister, Asha, Betina finds the courage to stand up to the bullies and reclaim her money so she can continue saving for her pet hamster, Cardi.
Valentina will perform her Grade 4 Acting Solo, Confessions of a Shopaholic, as Rebecca - a self-confessed shopaholic who has spent too much money. In the scene, she tells her friend Jane about her latest shopping experience in a café.
Ellinsis will perform her Grade 4 Acting Solo, Opening Night, as Dylan - an actor nervously waiting in the wings for their debut performance on stage.
Thaleia will perform her Grade 4 Acting Solo, Almost, as a teenager determined to borrow her dad’s car to collect her friends, despite not yet having a driving licence.
Sienna will perform her Grade 4 Acting Solo, Sherlock Holmes: The Boscombe Valley Mystery, as Sherlock Holmes. At a murder scene, Sherlock examines the evidence in his unique way and draws a conclusion about who may have committed the crime.
Mohinth will take his Grade 3 Speaking in Public exam, on the topic of cricket.
