This took our young-at-heart artist so long to finish…and it shows in the finish! If you zoom in and look at all the details and shades within every color, you’ll see what I mean.

Every painting that someone makes, has a little of them in it, and L’s painting is a reflection of her dynamism and perfectionism. She’s a graphic artist and it’s such a joy to see her find joy in every stroke of the brush 😊

I recently realized that I’d never posted this…figured it’s butter latte than never 😂

More on Laurel Burch! I know we’d always spoken about her…I just felt there was so much more to know. This is the second installment 😜.

We learn about two artists every term, and our first artist is 😊. I think she’s amazing and I’m chuffed that we get to try our hand at creating something original and personal!

These turned out so much better than we anticipated 😊😊😊😊😊😁!

Don’t get me wrong, the kids worked really hard on this, and it wasn’t easy, but we didn’t get how awesome it would turn out when we were working on it. We kept painting and highlighting and shadowing and painting again…and it still didn’t feel ‘shiny’.

It was a challenge getting the edges smooth, as well as blending some of those highlights. We kept at it, it was inching towards the end of class, and then suddenly, Viola! Things suddenly fell in place when we stepped back from the paintings and looked at them 😊. I totally love them.
