For students to learn, two essential conditions need to be met. A high attention span and a meaningful input. But the challenge for every teacher is how to create high attention span and meaningful input situations for a class full of diverse students taking several different subjects each day. Why do people have a high attention span in other situations such as when playing a game whether that game is electronic or physical? I am not jumping on the gamification bandwagon but I am simply investigating what peaks our attention and what meaningful input is. I think can say without a shred of doubt that every game has structure but provides many variables and the player has the power of making decisions and choices during the game (the experience in other words). How does that relate to learning in the classroom? As teachers, we need to create learning experiences that are structured but comes with variables - much like a game. This provides students with the opportunity to make choices and decisions during the learning experience. [Disclaimer: No AI was used to write this, just good old gray matter.]

By the time a present-day kindergartner graduates from university, around nine new jobs will have been created that do not exist today. Teachers, curriculum developers, school planners and publishers are entrusted with the role of planning for decades if not for a century ahead of present time. The development of each child will entail not only learning core subjects but in developing enduring human and social competencies.

ANALYZE in Bloom's Taxonomy

We can start developing students' ability to analyze at a very early age. All we need to do is design the most appropriate tools for the age range and the subjects that we want the students to develop analytic thinking for.

Regardless of the age or the subject, the tools will need to show how a person takes apart or breaks down a topic or an item. Then show how the pieces fit or work together and finally how all these pieces working together contribute to a purpose. Remember, the design of the tools must be within the ability of the age and learning of each student.

For example, analyzing a jet engine requires different tools (and learning) than analyzing math a problem and so on.

EXPLAIN
One of the 5E’s is the word 'explain'. I have heard from some that it means the teacher will give an explanation. From my perspective of student-centered learning, explain is what the students will need to do. The teacher's role is to create learning experiences that will help each student construct an explanation.

This will also challenge us to create an understanding of what explanation entails for a first grader versus a third grader in each subject and so on.

What is more, does explain always mean that it needs to be done orally? Absolutely not! Each student’s explanation can be communicated in many other forms such as demonstration, illustration, flow charts and other means depending on the subject, the grade level and what the learning is all about

The ability to answer a question means that the child already comprehends what was heard or read, but how do we help non native speakers of English children develop the ability to comprehend? Comprehension goes beyond the meaning of words. Even a single sentence can have many levels of comprehension. Comprehension is an essential starting point for learning science and math in addition to English.
