Turning Pointe

Turning Pointe Professional, friendly & fun dance classes across the UAE: RAD ballet, ISTD modern & tap plus contem Turning Pointe was founded in 1996.

Originally called The Dance Centre it changed its name in 2005 to Turning Pointe to reflect the fact that it has many, many studios throughout the UAE not just one centre. It is also a turning point in a child's life when they start school which is often the same year they start their dance classes. As a dance school, Turning Pointe offers a wide choice of classes to suit all kinds of students. The most popular genre is Classical Ballet, following The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus and gearing the students towards their RAD ballet examinations. These classes are offered to 3 years and above. Over the years the number and ability of the ballet students increased enormously and in 2010 Turning Pointe Youth Ballet (TPYB) was established. The Youth Ballet performances have been so successful they have won awards and have moved to the prestigious stage of Dubai Opera. TPYB is open to all our students from Grade 1 Ballet and above. Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, Street Jazz and Tap are the other genres of dance Turning Pointe offers. These classes start at 3 years old with our little Baby Boppers right up to 18 years.

“Lucky because what we call a work day, they call their favourite day of the week”

Making memories, making friends and having fun, how lucky are we to be a part of that?!💗

When I grow up💭

Wherever life takes our dancers, the lessons they learn through ballet will go far beyond the studio.

The confidence to believe in themselves, the discipline to keep showing up, the resilience to keep going when things feel difficult, and the courage to step outside their comfort zone, these are gifts they will carry with them for a lifetime.

Dance teaches them that progress takes patience, that mistakes are part of growth, and that beautiful things take time.

One day, the tutu may be outgrown, the ballet shoes may be tucked away, and the stage may become a memory… but the strength, grace, confidence, and determination they discovered along the way will always be a part of who they are✨
