Vishwamitrasana is an advanced arm balance pose that stretches the hamstrings and inner thighs and tones the muscles of the arms and legs.
This pose is named after the Sage Vishwamitra who was originally a great Kshatriya king who attained spiritual powers by performing severe penance and through rigorous yogic austerities.
He is one of the seven Brahmarshi and According to Hindu tradition, he is stated to have written the most powerful "Gayatri Mantra"
