The department of General Studies organized today the ETP Forum for all newly ETP registered students. The forum aimed at welcoming all ETP new students and giving them all necessary information to start their journey at AGU with steady steps. During the forum, Dr. Shadi Hijazi, Head of General Studies Department welcomed all students and assured them that the faculty members of DGS will receive them all with a great spirit and with high determination to facilitate the teaching process and achieve the learning outcomes.
The forum was attended by all faculty members of the DGS as well as members from AGU management.

The Department of Foundation and General Studies initiated a ceremony to appreciate students who passed in the TOEFL / IELTS examinations held during the Fall semester 2017. Dr. Bassem AlZahabi, the President gave away the certificates to the ETP 3 students and emphasized the importance of learning English. Dr. Shadi Hijazi counselled the students and thanked them as the rate of success was 89%.

Team spirit at Al Ghurair University, Dubai –    Scholarly publications | QS WOWNewswire Al Ghurair University , Dubai  a reputed University in the United Arab Emirates achieved public acclaim  in the academic year 2016 -2017.  Faculty from the Department of Foundation and General Studies wrote a book entitled,

Emphasizing the role research plays in today's world, the Department of Foundation and General Studies invited Ms. Sana Sabbah, the branch manager, to give a talk on research methodologies. The students of the course Research and Learning Skills ( section 50) attended the talk organized on May 7th and found it both informative and entertaining.

The Department of Foundation and General Studies organized a trip to the British Council, Dubai on the 9th of May 2017. Students from the course ‘Communication Skills’ participated in a workshop session at the British Council and developed their conversation skills. The focus was on communication and technology.
