اختتمت أمس الاربعاء (4 يونيو 2014) فعاليات الدورة الثانية من مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط للأحداث الرياضية في فندق العنوان بدبي، والذي يقام تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ أحمد بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، رئيس جائزة محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للإبداع الرياضي، رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية الوطنية الإماراتية، وبدعم من مجلس دبي الرياضي ، بمشاركة أكثر من 150 شخصية من صناع القرار في القطاع الرياضي.
وركز انجوس سكوت مقدم البرامج الشهير والاعلامي بقناة بي ان سبورت المتحدث الرئيس في الجلسة الثانية على دور الاعلام في تنظيم الفعاليات الرياضية في الشرق الاوسط متناولا اهمية الاعلام والتلفزيون على وجه التحديد في انجاح الفعاليات الرياضية مؤكدا ان التغطية الاعلامية تسهم بنصيب كبير في نجاح الأحداث.
واعتبر سكوت التلفزيون اهم وسيلة اعلامية في التغطيات الخاصة بالفعاليات الرياضية مشيراً الى الانتشار الواسع للقنوات الفضائية وامكانية وصولها الى اكبر عدد من الجمهور مبينا ان التلفزيون يمكن ان يرفع عدد متابعي الاحداث الرياضية ، ويسهم بقدر كبير في تحقيق الفعاليات للنجاح.
وذكر سكوت ان اهمية الفعالية هو الذي يحدد حجم التغطية الاعلامية ، مشيراً الى ان القنوات الفضائية تحرص على التواجد في الاحداث الكبيرة والفعاليات المهمة ، مبينا ان منظمي الفعاليات الصغيرة يحتاجون الى جهود اضافية للحصول على التغطية التلفزيونية التي يريدونها.

The inaugural Middle East Sports Event Summit celebrated a successful launch at the Address Dubai Marina Hotel in Dubai with practical discussion, debate and insightful learnings on how to stage major sports events more effectively in the region. This landmark event which took place on 10-12 June 2013 in Dubai, UAE was supported by Dubai Sports Council and brought together leaders in the industry from sports organising committees, government, federations, sponsors, agencies, and suppliers to events. Top leaders in sports discussed the Middle East’s potential to host more and more events, looking at the critical topics and challenges when organising sports events here in the region. The Summit opened with a speech from Dr Ahmad Al Sharif, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, followed by PwC’s presentation on the impact of hosting major events in the region. Presentations, panel debates and discussion then followed over the next 2 days. The Summit discussed bid preparation and presentation, creating an effective legacy, operational challenges, sponsorship activation, sport and the media and more. Students from local UAE universities also took part in a Sports Youth Forum and had a unique opportunity to listen to Aspire Academy, the ICC, Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE and London 2012. The students were able to find out what career opportunities are available for them in the region to start their career in the sports industry.
