THE SKILL MANY PARENTS DON’T REALISE THEIR CHILD NEEDS

Most people won’t tell you this.

But many successful parents make sure their children practise communication, public speaking and presentation skills from a young age.

They send them for Speech & Drama exams, Performing Arts Festivals, public speaking opportunities and other activities that make them stand in front of people and speak.

Why?

Because they are helping their children face one of the biggest fears people have — speaking in front of others.

And this is not only about performing on a stage.

Your child will need this skill when they go for university interviews, job interviews, presentations, meetings, business pitches and leadership opportunities.

A child who can speak clearly, express ideas confidently and communicate with people has an advantage.

And communication is a major part of leadership.

You can be extremely intelligent and have excellent qualifications. But if you cannot communicate your ideas, people may never see your full potential.

This is why communication skills should not be treated as an “extra activity”.

They are a life and career skill.

Here is one of our past students sharing how her communication and performance training has helped her in the path she has chosen.

Listen to her experience — because sometimes the children who benefit most from these skills understand their value only when they enter the real world.

Start building these skills before your child needs them. 🌟

🇦🇪 DUBAI PARENTS: IS YOUR CHILD READY FOR 2035?

Good grades are important, but the future will need more than good grades.

Your child will need to know how to:

🗣️ Communicate — speak clearly and express ideas.
🧠 Think — solve problems instead of only memorising answers.
⭐ Build confidence — speak, present and handle pressure.
🎨 Create — think of new ideas and use imagination.
❤️ Connect — understand people and work well with others.
🔄 Adapt — learn new things and handle change.
🤖 Use AI & technology — use technology wisely and responsibly.
🤝 Collaborate & lead — work in teams and take responsibility.
🌱 Build resilience — handle mistakes, pressure and failure.
🎤 Persuade & influence — tell stories, present ideas and make people listen.

Parents, the important question is no longer only:

“What does my child know?”

Ask:

“What can my child DO with what they know?”

These skills can be developed from childhood. Speech & Drama and Communication Skills can help children practise communication, creativity, confidence, storytelling, teamwork, emotional control and thinking on the spot.

Don’t wait until your child needs these skills for university or a career. Start building them today.

🇦🇪 DUBAI PARENTS: CREATIVITY IS A CAREER SKILL. If you want your kids to succeed in the future, you need to help them build this skill before it’s too late!

Many parents think creativity is something a child is either born with or without. That is not true.

In 2030 and beyond, your child will need creativity to solve problems, develop new ideas, build businesses, create marketing campaigns, work with AI and stand out at work.

Even with AI, knowing how to use 100 different AI tools is not enough. AI gives you tools. Creativity decides what you do with them.

Speech & Drama and Communication classes develop creativity through storytelling, role-play, improvisation, character work, presentation and thinking quickly.

The children who appear “naturally creative” often had parents who started developing these skills early.

Creativity can be trained. Start before your child needs it for their career.

Parents in Dubai, your child is communicating before they even speak. 👀

Research suggests people can form first impressions in as little as 0.1 seconds of seeing a face.

Interviewers, professors, future employers and clients may begin forming impressions before the first word.

Communication starts before “Hello.”

Many parents in Dubai assume school presentations are enough to build public speaking skills. But giving children a chance to speak isn’t the same as teaching them HOW to speak. 🎤

Public speaking can be intimidating. We prepare children with the right breathing, vocal and drama techniques, helping them feel mentally and physically safe while building confidence, step by step. ✨

What do children really gain from Speech & Drama and Communication Skills training? ❤️

It’s so much more than learning a speech, preparing for an exam, or winning an award.

They learn to stand up and speak with confidence.
They learn to express their thoughts clearly.
They learn to listen, respond and communicate with others.
They learn to use their voice, body language, facial expressions and presence to make an impact.
They learn to overcome nervousness and become comfortable in front of others.
They learn discipline, preparation, creativity and resilience.

And perhaps most importantly, they begin to discover their own voice.

For parents, the greatest reward is watching that transformation happen — seeing a child who once hesitated to speak slowly become the child who raises their hand, shares an idea, walks onto a stage and says, “I can do this.” ✨

The award in this video is a beautiful achievement, but it represents something much bigger: the confidence, effort and growth behind it. 🏆

This is what we work towards in every class.

Not just better performers.

Better communicators. More confident children. Stronger young people.

Because the skills they learn on our stage are skills they can carry into the classroom, future interviews, presentations, friendships, leadership roles — and eventually, into life itself. ❤️

Give your child the confidence to speak.
Give them the skills to be heard.
Give them the courage to step onto their stage.

✨ Every Child Performs on Stage.

One of the greatest joys of my visit to Sri Lanka wasn’t just coming home. It was seeing my students again.

Meeting both my past students and my current students in one place was a moment I’ll treasure forever. Some of them I taught many years ago, some are still learning with me today, but each one holds a special place in my heart.

As a teacher, you never really stop wondering about the children you’ve taught. Seeing them again, hearing their stories, watching how they’ve grown, and sharing laughter together was a reminder that the relationships we build in the classroom last far beyond the lessons.

Although my teaching journey has now taken me to Dubai, Sri Lanka will always be where so many beautiful memories were made. Thank you to every student who came to spend time with me. You reminded me why I fell in love with teaching over 20 years ago.

No matter how far life takes us, you’ll always be part of my story.

With love,
Miss Shihara ❤️
