From an EISM classroom to the stage at an international medical conference.
We are thrilled to celebrate the extraordinary achievement of EISM student Amal Fatima Hameed.
During a summer internship in vascular research, Amal worked under the mentorship of vascular surgeons to research a complex clinical case, develop a report and submit an abstract to the Eastern Vascular Society’s case competition.
Selected from more than 75 submissions, she went on to present her work at the Society’s 40th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., alongside medical students, residents and fellows. Representing Northwell Health, Amal was awarded 1st Place in the Medical Student Section for her case, “Repair of Large Mycotic Pseudoaneurysm of the Native Carotid Artery with Interposition Bypass.”
From an EISM classroom to the stage of an international medical conference, all while still in Year 12. Amal, your ambition, dedication and confidence are an inspiration. You have made the entire Meadows community incredibly proud. Congratulations!
