The Kubrick Stare is one of Stanley Kubrick’s signature shots, presenting his character in an intense look towards the camera.

He does this for a number of reasons, sometimes to give the audience a chance to study a character’s face, but mostly to make them seem deranged and dangerous.

Happy ! This week we’re showcasing Steve McQueen.

Originally from London, McQueen shot to acclaim by winning the Turner Prize for video in 1999.

📺 Small Axe - a 6-part commissioned series for BBC One & Amazon Prime about five stories set within London’s West Indian community from the late 1960s to the early ’80s. Premiering in September 2020 at New York Film Festival.
