The workshop was very helpful and I quickly learned the way Grasshopper worked thanks to the instructor’s step-by-step demonstrations, as well as clear explanations on the workflow behind parametric design and modelling, as well as how to manipulate data trees. Prior to this workshop, I struggled with having to model complex geometries manually, however, now I am able to apply what I learned from the workshop as well as iterate on my design more efficiently!

Grasshopper at a first glance seems rather complicated and challenging .The tutorials on YouTube don’t explain how and why certain steps are taken , but this workshop gave me a clear understanding of the steps and the script of very interesting parametric designs . There were a range of types of designs taught in the workshop which are very useful for integration in architectural studios . Our instructor Mr. Wasay made sure the concepts were clear to all the students along with solving any doubts that we asked . Overall it was an extremely interesting and fun workshop.

The workshop allowed me to produce realistic renderings in V-Ray 5 for rhino using different materials and lighting conditions. More specifically I was introduced to working process of applying and creating different materials through their components of diffuse, roughness, bump and displacement maps as well as UVW values and texture mapping. Moreover, we also learned how to set up different lighting conditions to produce day and night renders through utilizing HDRI images, rhino lights as well as the V-Ray Sun and Sky system
