How can we practice to get more in tune with our intuition?

To be able to pick up clues from our inner knowing- we must slow down. An easy exercise is to pay attention to your own heartbeat a couple of times each day. If you put your hand on your chest area your may feel an even deeper connection.

When was the last time you were being seen for who you want to be?

Wow! What a powerful inquiry! It is one of my favourites I leave my clients to reflect upon. It is short, powerful and often an eye opener.

You might come to coaching because you feel not like yourself, you feel stuck, unmotivated and has lost your direction in life. To reflect back on last time you felt proud of yourself can bring you valuable awareness to small steps you can initiate to bring you back to that person again.

This doesn’t mean that you should copy paste the past, it means that you can revive some important elements back into your current life again.

Why is it so hard to fixate on all wonderful things in life?

Why is our brain negativity bias?

Easy explained it steams from being naturally wired to look out for threats in our environment. Our brains easier absorbs negativity to makes us not forget about the potential danger.

In reality, most of our day experiences are neutral or positive, even the bad ones. We are just not so good at paying attention.

What is it that drives us to keep going even when life gets hard?

You find yourself grasping for air, you do everything in your power to stay above the surface. For the sake of what? Why? Why not just sink?!

With some reflection work, comes awareness - and to reflect specially when life throws you lemons can help you understand what matters and what motivates you. What drives you to work harder, to keep trying, to never give up…..

Is it fear…..if yes, what are you the most afraid of? What is the worst thing that could happen?

Is is inner strong belief in yourself….if yes, what vision do you hold for yourself? What is next, what are you dreaming of?

Becoming clear on your inner drives may offer you support in understanding your WHY in life.

Setting goals are a somewhat straightforward process, but it’s important that you make sure they are relevant, realistic and attainable in light of change.

I like to follow the SMART criteria with my clients to evaluate the quality of the milestones we are working toward.

Are the goals…
🎯Specific?
🎯Measurable?
🎯Achievable?
🎯Relevant?
🎯Time-bound?

Further you might want to make sure that the goals are aligned with your values, vision and strengths.

By reviewing the goals, you may identify which goals need to be modified, replaced, or abandoned and which ones can be maintained or reinforced.

Sitting by myself behind the steering wheel after dropping the kids off, an old song by Dido “ thank you” popped up on the radio. It brought back a lot of memories, but for the first time the lyrics really got to me and made me smile. The song truly captured my state of being in this very moment of life❤️

I am in place right now where I feel so grateful and yet excited about what is next to come.
Last couple of months I have worked hard, serving more clients than I ever did before, working on myself with my coach and mentor, prioritizing myself, my wellbeing and self development. And I love it!
It makes me feel so grateful and humble for everyone and everything in my life right now.

Loving someone starts with loving you.

When I left my life back in Sweden nine years ago to move to a new country with my family, my heart was craving for the new adventures that were about to begin.
What I didn’t expect was how much this change would impact my self-esteem.

At times, I found myself questioning my worth. I felt anxious and stuck.
Like time had stopped, and I was in this constant looping of beliefs that weren’t even true.
I stopped making myself a priority.

What I discovered in this journey is that if we don’t make ourselves our priority, no one is doing it for us. No matter how hard we try to give others the best we can if we don’t start looking at ourselves as our most important project, everything we do is in vain.

The day I understood that everything started to make sense. I began to connect more to my body to quiet my thoughts. I became grounded and started to see more clearly what was next for me.

It felt like I was in charge of writing my own story again and being present for the people I love the most and for me.

The day I became continuous about what I was dreaming of was when I sporadically watched the TV series Billions. I witnessed actress Maggie Siff portray a very influential business coach supporting the employees and its co-founders in a high pace environment of a hedge fund. I remember myself gazing at my husband and we both saying at the same time: “That is what you should be doing!”

I saw someone getting paid for doing something I have done for years, naturally without compensation: Empowering people through coaching

I researched, looked into best practice coaching schools, signed up, paid for the full year and had my mind set to continue with certification the following year.

Bumpy road? Yes.
Did I question my decisions? Sometimes.
Especially after all the money and time investment to make this a reality.

But I had a vision, and I knew what I wanted to achieve: to set up my Soda coaching business straight after I finished certification. And I did!

As much as I celebrated the victory of following through on my vision and reaching my goal, I enjoyed the journey, who I had become while I was working towards my dream. I was transformed. I had evolved so much, and I can even today look back on the bumpy paths, grateful for my learnings.

Having a vision supports you following through even when you doubt yourself. It helps you stay motivated and focused. It makes the journey exciting and purposeful.

Confronting this question when meeting new people while on a career break can be daunting and unpleasant. The shame and guilt. Lack of confidence, self-worth, purpose and direction.

When I moved out to Dubai as an expat ten years ago, accompanied by my husband and 3 small children, I experienced this. I felt lost, had no direction and often felt the need to defend my choice to leave corporate and be a stay-at-home mum.

It was first when I leaned into acceptance and fully embraced my chosen life that I found my strong inner voice to answer with full resonance.

The key here is to get clear about your reasoning.

In my case, I valued family, being a present mother, building unshakable relationships, exploring our new home together, and to be free. I cherished my time for reflection, to pause, and figure out what I really wanted out of life. And that career break turned out to be the best decision ever!

To take a career break is a bold decision, but remember, you are not your title - you are you!
