The Sound Boxes help refine the childβs sense of hearing, as they listen carefully to sounds ranging from very soft to very loud. The challenge is then to pair the matching sounds together and it is not as easy as it sounds, look at that concentration π

One of the most beautiful things to witness inside the classroom is the explosion into writing.
Suddenly, after all the work the children have done, the sounds they have heard, the words they have learned, the songs they have sung, the conversations they have had, and the experiences they have lived writing unfolds naturally not because an adult has asked them to, but because they have something to say.

When children plant a seed, they are not only learning how something grows.
They are learning to wait.
To care.
To observe.
To trust that something beautiful is happening, even before they can see it.
The playground is a wonderful place for movement and play, but children need more than that. They need to feel connected to the natural world, to touch the soil, discover the parts of a tree, and experience nature with awe.

We always say Montessori materials are scientifically designed and this is exactly why...
The Cylinder Blocks help the child develop essential skills through careful, purposeful work. As the child removes and replaces each cylinder, they refine their pincer grip,. Indirectly, this why this work also prepares the hand for writing long before the child ever picks up a pencil.
Through this activity children develop their concentration and visual discrimination of dimensions.
