Job negotiations can be complex and asking for what you deserve without coming across as petty especially in current times when so many qualified candidates are struggling to land a job can be uncomfortable.

I’ve had candidates with amazing skill set accept a position that fits the employers budget with the promise to renegotiate in few months . I do admire their confidence in themselves and trust in the due process .

On the other hand I’ve also had candidates with no room for negotiations and I would like to acknowledge their strong sense of self worth .

So how do you go about negotiating a salary that reflects your worth ? How do you manage your expectations ? Is there a way to to quantify the value you will be bringing to that position and why so many prospective candidates are ill at ease with this subject .

One can choose to invest in a career based on ROI and over the years become quite good at their chosen field and that’s fine . Personally as a recruiter it gives me great joy when I am listening to someone who is passionate about what they do. What if you were to ask yourself ,
Why you are doing what you’re doing ? What sets you apart from other qualified candidates? -excited

Pay attention to your words your mind is listening to everything.

We are constantly running a record in our heads . Imagine having invisible headsets and listening to non stop negative chatter . Pay attention to you your inner dialogue today , It’s possible you are unwittingly playing the self-sabotage game over and again without even realizing it .

Let’s try something, Think of a stressful event and accompanying thoughts . Noice your breathing and how your body reacts.

Now Go ahead and tell yourself , I’m so proud of all the hard work you do every day.” Now notice how that feels? Better, right?

Building this new relationship with ourselves takes effort . Changing how we speak to ourselves and how we allow others to treat us is gateway to new possibilities.
The truth is , You are an amazing, deserving being on your own and worthy of all the good that life has in store for you .

So here’s what I’m asking you to do. 
✅Start by being mindful of your thoughts.
✅Be conscious and make a decision to focus on the positive instead. Each time you are tempted to go down the old route , check yourself and replace your negative thoughts with something positive .
✅Your attitude is what you choose and You attract what you focus on. Instill positive habits in your daily routine .
✅surround yourself with positive people.
✅How about writing down five things you are grateful for today .

If you don’t believe in yourself just yet surround yourself with the people who do . In fact, there is an old proverb that reads, “Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are.’’

We all have had that one friend or colleague maybe even a family member who complains and whines all the time, someone who keeps pulling us down .In that case, Steve Jobs sums this up best:
“Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.’’
Believe in yourself and take a good look at the people around you , do they inspire you ? What impact do they have in your life .

As we hold on to old wounds we miss out on life . As we stay busy keeping scores we forget to notice how much we are loved . As we choose to sit on the side lines we miss out on playing the game itself . Opportunity to love and be loved ,maybe even an opportunity to have a career we truly love and simply be grateful for present and the people who love us . Wouldn’t be great if you were to cultivate healing and love instead and let that expand in your life .
