It is statistically known that in as many as 90% of situations where a child is harmed, the child (and often their family) knows the adult, youth or child who is acting in an inappropriate way. When talking with kids about any form of child abuse we need to use examples and situations that make that reality clear. Teachers and parents have to be made aware and taught how to talk to children, and how to ensure that safety parameters are ensured without al;arming or compromisisng the quality of life of the children. The trend to date, has been amongst teachers and health care workers to "identify" the signs of a probable abused child. Putting together custom made training programs and manuals for parents and teachers is the first step. Children will then be taught in a friendly environment by the parents and teachers with the initial guidance of KinderSafe
