CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
On behalf of the entire members of the Nguru Medical Students' Association (NGUMSA), I warmly congratulate our esteemed Patron, Dr. Garba Ibrahim Turjiman, on his well-deserved emergence as the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Yobe State Chapter.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to your outstanding dedication, exemplary leadership, commitment to the medical profession, and selfless service to humanity. Your emergence as the leader of the NMA Yobe State Chapter is a great source of pride and inspiration to the entire NGUMSA family.
We are confident that, under your capable leadership, the association will continue to record remarkable progress, promote unity, and contribute significantly to the advancement of healthcare delivery in Yobe State.

NGUMSA 2nd Annual Sallah Visitation:``` _Building up a Legacy._

On the evening of Saturday, 30th May, 2026, the association also paid a homage visit to the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Associate Prof. Abba Idriss Adam at his Nguru residence. The session which last a few minutes was fruitful, highlighting the association's activities, aims and objectives to the Hon. Commissioner. From his part, the Hon. Commissioner welcomed the association (as this is the association's first visit to him) and encouraged the members to stick on to the mandates and blueprints of the body. He also express his enermous joy when informed about the association's JAMB Lession Tutorials, he highly emphasized on guiding the future generations of the community towards reaching their dream.
Finally, he thanked the association and pledge his total support to the association whenever in need.
That marked the end of the two days Annual Sallah Visitation. The association wishes to thank it's members for showing unwavering support with ideas, advise and participation.

```NGUMSA 2nd Annual Sallah Visitation:``` _Building up a Legacy._

As part of the activities of the Nguru Medical Students Association (NGUMSA), community engagement takes one of the highest priority, this was proven during the Eid Al Adha Sallah Celebrations. During the festive period, the association embarked on a 2-day community visitation and engagement, paying a homage visit to public figures within the Nguru Community.
The visitation kick-started on Friday 29th May 2026 with *Nguru Custodial Center (Nguru Prison)* as first destination. At the prison, the members of the association had an interactive session with inmates and staff of the centre. During the session, words of advice and guidance were given to the inmate by the Secretary General of the association, Health Talk was delivered to the inmates as well after which *medications and detergents were presented to the inmates as Sallah Gift from the association*. In his words, the Deputy Chief Wadner thanked the association for considering the centre as it's to-go point during the visitation. He also recalled that this was the 2nd time the association considered the center for such good deeds.

Nguru Medical Students Association (NGUMSA): _Investing in and Sharpening The Future of Nguru Community_

One of the mandates of the Nguru Medical Students Association is community services, engagement and development programs. This was made possible when Nguru Medical Students Association in collaboration with Sahel Bring Charity Foundation, NGUMSA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train, tutor and guide the young generation of students who are preparing for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (JAMB UTME). The MoU signed stated that NGUMSA will provide manpower (tutors) while SBCF will provide the necessary materials for the program.
The program which took place in late December to early weeks of February provided a rigorous and well structured training to over 150 students which were selected based on entrance examination given. After a period of 8 weeks (2 class a week), a career guidance program was organized and students were mentored throughout the JAMB registration procedures.
At the end of the program, the Nguru Medical Students Association NGUMSA provided free JAMB E-pin (registration pin) to 7 best selected students (exams was given) at the cost of ₦7,200 each!
The tutors that spared their time, energy and talent to guide the students include:
1. Kabir Muhammad Sani from FUD (tutored Physics)
2. Abdullahi Abubakar Galadima from YSU (tutored Chemistry) and
3. Aisha Salihu Auwal from UNIMAID (co-tutored Biology).
The tutorial program ended last two weeks while the registration exercise ended last week.
This shows the NGUMSA's firm on it's mandate of selfless services to the community.
We thank the tutors, the management and the patrons of NGUMSA for their support, advise and guidance.
