This December, we’re excited to be running a Kids’ Photography Winter Camp in Whitstable!

Over this 9-hour camp, your child will learn many functions of the camera. We’ll explore key photography skills including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, composition, and more. Each student will have access to their own Canon DSLR camera throughout the course.

They’ll print their best shots to showcase their progress! 🖨️✨

This is a fun and engaging beachside workshop designed for children aged 7–15, perfectly located by the sea to capture amazing photographs all week long. 🌊📷

A great start to our winter camp in Dubai

🎉 Creativity in Focus! 📸

Ignite, powered by Canon, hosted an inspiring 2-day photography workshop at Dubai Schools in Al Barsha, welcoming 150 amazing students!

Our standout stars? The Grade 4 crew! 🌟

They dove into photography with so much excitement—snapping tons of photos, exploring new angles, and capturing their world through the lens.

The best part? They even got to PRINT a few of their favourite shots and take them home as memories! 🖨️✨

Young minds, big creativity — and we’re just getting started!

Ignite Powered by Canon proudly hosted its very first classroom workshop for students aged 8–15, and what an incredible day it was! Ten enthusiastic young photographers joined us to explore the exciting world of photography — from mastering lighting and camera settings to learning how to pose and capture portraits with confidence and creativity.

The session was filled with energy, curiosity, and plenty of hands-on fun. Students experimented with different lighting techniques, adjusted camera modes, and discovered how small changes can make a big difference in their photos. Our team loved seeing their creativity come to life as they practiced “dancing” their portraits — adding movement, emotion, and personality to every shot.

At Ignite, our goal is to inspire the next generation of visual storytellers. Workshops like these give students the chance to learn real-world photography skills in an encouraging and interactive environment.

We’re thrilled with the success of our first session and can’t wait to host more! These workshops will take place every other month, giving more young talents the opportunity to learn, create, and shine behind the lens.

A big thank you to Canon for powering this initiative and to our wonderful students for making the first workshop truly memorable. We look forward to seeing many more creative “stunts” and stunning portraits in future sessions!

n June 2025, the Ignite team had the pleasure of visiting GEMS FirstPoint School in Dubai to deliver our engaging workshop sessions to Year 5 students. The excitement and enthusiasm from the pupils were infectious, and it was wonderful to see their curiosity and creativity shine throughout the activities.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were only able to deliver the workshop to half of the Year 5 group during our first visit. Determined to ensure every student had the opportunity to take part, we returned in September to complete the sessions with the remaining classes. The second visit was just as inspiring—filled with energy, laughter, and fantastic participation from the students.

We are always amazed by the warm welcome we receive from GEMS FirstPoint School. The staff and students alike create such a positive environment that makes our time there truly special. It’s a joy to see how engaged the pupils are, and how keen they are to learn through hands-on, interactive experiences.

Being invited back by the school is always a privilege and a testament to the meaningful impact our workshops have on students’ learning journeys. Watching young minds explore new ideas and build confidence is exactly what Ignite is all about.

This October, the Ignite team had the pleasure of visiting Al Resalah School of Science in Sharjah. It was an exciting and inspiring day filled with creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning.

The students who participated came from various age groups, each bringing their own enthusiasm and unique perspective. For many of them, it was their first experience using a DSLR camera, and their excitement was contagious! After a quick introduction to photography basics, the students explored their school grounds, capturing everything from candid moments with friends to the beauty of their surroundings.

Their creativity truly shone through as they experimented with angles, lighting, and focus. By the end of the session, the students had taken hundreds of impressive photos — a wonderful display of fresh talent and imagination.

One of the highlights of the day was the photo printing session, where students got to print some of their favorite shots and take them home as keepsakes. Seeing their work come to life on paper was a proud and rewarding moment for everyone involved.

We were thrilled to see how quickly the students picked up new skills and expressed themselves through photography. The day ended with big smiles, shared laughter, and a genuine sense of accomplishment.

Ignite looks forward to visiting many more schools across Sharjah to continue inspiring young minds and nurturing a passion for creative expression.

In September 2024, the Ignite team had the pleasure of visiting GEMS Royal Dubai for a four-hour “Basics of Photography” workshop. The session was specially designed for Year 2 students, introducing them to the exciting world of photography through fun, hands-on learning activities.
Over the course of the workshop, we guided more than 50 enthusiastic young learners as they explored how to see the world through a camera lens. From understanding light and composition to experimenting with creative angles, the students showed incredible curiosity, imagination, and energy throughout the day.

Their enthusiasm was truly inspiring! It was amazing to see how quickly they grasped the basic concepts and began applying them in their own unique ways. Each student brought a fresh perspective, reminding us that creativity has no age limit.

The entire Ignite team was impressed by the warm welcome we received from both the students and the staff at GEMS Royal Dubai. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to share our passion for photography with such an inspiring group of young learners.
