Play is casual and spontaneous. The best way to learn anything is through play. If we observe children playing, we will notice that they play on their own and just as how they want to play it. As children grow they go through different stages of play development. There are different stages of play. Children undergo six playing stages from birth to age five. They undergo one or more stages simultaneously and can integrate elements of earlier stages of play as they engage in advanced stages of play. The main thing is that we as parents, EYP or adults should encourage children to play and have lots of playtimes while we help them grow and develop. What examples have you seen in your children from these stages of play? Lets read this blog to get more information about the stages of play development.

Understand the various stages of play can help parents, early years practitioners, caregiver design learning activities. Unoccupied play, solitary play, onlooker play parallel play, associative play and cooperative play.
