Seminar in FIDIC 2017 Introduction is in progress

The UAE Division of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS-UAE) organized a successful annual dinner event for the fourth consecutive year with members and their family in the UAE on 08th February 2018. The event was hosted in the Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments at Bur Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Mr. Manju, AIQS UAE Committee member put more effort on success of this event together with his committee.
The guests were welcomed by Mr. Ajantha Premarathna (International Chapter Representative – UAE). Mr. Dhammika gamage, newly elected Director middle east of the AIQS central board also addressed the audience and the AIQS members congratulate him.
As a great kick off to the year 2018 and celebrate to the success of year 2018 it was a joyful family get together event- all about fun, games, music, laughter and surprises, with a DJ. It was a joyful event for kids and they were really enthusiastic and keep the event live up to mid night.

AIQS UAE has conducted Appreciation and Certificate awarding ceremony on 12th Tuesday September 2017 at Mövenpick Hotel. The event was organised by AIQS UAE branch and it was mainly focused on appreciating CPD speakers and award of certificates for certified quantity surveyors, corporate members and affiliate members.

Guided by the words of the great man Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world", the UAE Branch of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors touched the lives of Filipino children through a very successful outreach program of distributing school bags and supplies as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR programme.

On 10th July 2017, forty (40) grade 5 students of Malis Elementary School from Guiguinto province of Bulacan in Philippines were chosen as beneficiaries of school supplies packages. Each of them received 1 backpack, notebooks, pad papers, pencils, ball point pens, crayons and other supplies for their basic education needs. The beneficiaries chosen were identified from needy families who in need of assistance.

This is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project of AIQS in Philippines. Mr. Nonilo Vergara and his family handed over the donations to the children on behalf of AIQS-UAE. Mr. M. Sathiyaseelan, secretary of AIQS-UAE and a member of CSR sub-committee and Mr. Ajantha Premarathna, chairman of AIQS-UAE also played a big part in supporting this CSR Project.

AIQS-UAE has carried our similar CSR proejcts annuly such as flood relief support to victims in Sri Lanka through the Counsulate General Office of Sri Lanka in Dubai by arranging 100 foldable mattresses on 26th May 2016.

In 2015, earthquake victims in Nepal were provided with 500 winter blankets through Red Crescent Society of the UAE.
