I am Ms. Gihan Mansour, an educational leader with over 37 years of experience, including many years in the UAE. I believe education is more than academic success—it is about caring for students, inspiring them, and helping them grow in confidence, character, and lifelong learning.

Through leading Ministry of Education subjects, I have trained diverse teams across Arabic, Islamic Studies, Social Studies, and Moral Education from EYFS to Year 12, for both Arab and non-Arab students. My work as a teacher, mentor, coach, trainer, and school Reviewer has strengthened my commitment to high-quality teaching, continuous improvement, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all learners.

Bringing stories to life 📚✨ The creative minds in Year 2D turned their library period into an artist workshop for a Book Character Mask Making activity.

By designing masks of their favourite characters, our students showed off their awesome story comprehension and creativity. We love seeing our readers connect so deeply with books.

As Deputy Head of Primary at North Gate British School, I am driven by the firm conviction that our greatest responsibility is to find and nurture the unique potential hidden within every child. With over a decade of experience in the UAE’s vibrant education sector, I have learned that true leadership is not about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions of our data and our practice to ensure no student is left behind. I remain a Science teacher at heart, still finding my greatest fulfillment in those small, everyday classroom moments where I strive to turn complex concepts into “aha!” moments.

I believe that for students to thrive in an ever-changing world, they must evolve into curious, independent learners and confident problem solvers.

My role is to architect the environment where this growth happens. Specialising in instructional coaching and bespoke professional development, I work closely with our faculty to refine their craft. I am particularly passionate about middle leadership development, empowering our team to lead with impact. By mentoring teachers and fostering pedagogical excellence, I strive to ensure that our academic standards and student wellbeing are inextricably linked, creating a community where every learner is empowered to achieve their absolute personal best.

Every great leader understands that the past holds the keys to the future. At North Gate British Private School, we are thrilled to celebrate Maxime Claude Louis as he chooses History for his GCSE pathway.

This vibrant subject empowers students to look beneath the surface, question the world around them, and construct well-supported, informed arguments. We are incredibly excited to support Maxime as he develops these vital analytical skills and prepares to make his own mark on the world.

Our Foundation Stage creative minds teamed up for a wonderful artistic adventure! Using the vibrant shapes they carefully cut out earlier, the children collaborated to build a magnificent, large-scale collage.

Inspired by Henri Matisse’s famous masterpiece, “The Snail,” our young learners explored abstract art, shape recognition, and colour composition. It was fantastic to watch them discuss where to place each piece, working beautifully as a team to create one giant, collaborative work of art.

Our young learners had the best time exploring the garden through music and movement before putting on their nature detective hats. 🕵️‍♂️🍂

Armed with magnifying glasses, the children paired up to investigate contrasting textures and sizes—searching for big, small, rough, and smooth leaves. We love seeing so much excitement, curiosity, and early scientific inquiry in action.

Outdoor learning provides a critical framework for holistic development in the Early Years. This week, our FS2 students engaged in a series of carefully designed, multi-sensory stations aimed at blending academic concepts with physical exploration.

From strengthening early literacy at our outdoor phonics and reading hubs to exploring scientific inquiry via ice-melting experiments, the children led their own learning. Sensory exploration with Orbeez and sea animal water play enhanced tactile development, while collaborative construction projects challenged their problem-solving and communication skills.

By moving the classroom outdoors, we continue to cultivate curiosity and independent learning in our youngest students.
