Hello everyone, my name is Monica Dantis. I am an experienced elementary educator based in Al Ain, with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I am passionate about teaching and dedicated to helping children grow with confidence and reach their full potential.

I bring over 13 years of teaching experience across British and American curricula, with extensive experience in the UAE. I have also taken on leadership roles as a Grade Level Lead, supporting both student achievement and teacher development. I strive to create engaging, structured, and inclusive learning environments where every child feels supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.

I enjoy integrating technology into learning, using data to support student progress, and designing creative, student-centered lessons. Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, engaging in creative projects, and exploring new ideas that enhance both teaching and learning. I love drawing and painting, as well as traveling and exploring new cultures, which inspire creativity in both my personal and professional life.

I’m Nishant Mazumdar from India. I am delighted to be joining North Gate British School as an Economics and Business Teacher and I look forward to contributing to the school community.

With over 9 years of teaching Economics and Business across IGCSE, IBDP, Edexcel, AS, and A Levels, I hold a Master’s in Economics, B.Ed, and Cambridge’s International Certification in Teaching and Learning. I also completed a Teach for India fellowship in Chennai, India to promote fair education for all.

I love careful planning that leads to great lessons where students thrive, not just learn. Through real-world Economics and Business case studies, I develop key skills like critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. This helps students love learning, turn mistakes into steps for improvement and success, and build values like collaboration, respect, ownership, and excellence in all they do.

Outside class, I enjoy singing, playing guitar, sports like football, squash, and volleyball, traveling, and discovering new cultures. Excited to join and grow together at North Gate British School.

I’m a Deputy Head of Secondary, but an educator first—and that will always be the part of the job I love most. I believe schools should be places where students feel seen, supported, and challenged to become the very best version of themselves. For me, great education is built on relationships, high expectations, consistency, and a little bit of magic in the classroom.

As a leader, I care deeply about teaching and learning, supporting staff, and creating a culture where people feel trusted to grow. I like things organised, purposeful, and done well—although I have also learned that no school day has ever read the plan.

I believe in raising standards without losing kindness, in having difficult conversations without losing humanity, and in remembering that behind every piece of data is a young person with a story.

I will always celebrate the small wins, ask far too many questions, probably tweak something that was already perfectly fine, and keep looking for ways to make learning better. Because for me, education has never just been a job. It is people, purpose, and the privilege of making a difference—one student, one teacher, and one school day at a time.

A memorable first day back at North Gate British School

Today, our campus was filled with bright smiles, new beginnings, and meaningful moments. We had the distinct honor of hosting H.E. Aisha Sultan Majid Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Ajman Private Education Affairs Office, who joined our community and participated in our Green Sadaqah Initiative.

From our brand-new campus developments to seeing our classrooms come alive again, we can’t wait to watch our students learn, play, and grow together this year.
