At Garden City British School! Our corridors transformed into a living storybook for our Dr. Seuss Celebration & Favourite Character Dress-Up Day.

From The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 & Thing 2, to wizards, princesses, and heroes, our FS1 to Year 5 students (and staff!) brought their favorite pages to life. The energy during our whole-school parade was unmatched, showcasing our students' incredible creativity, confidence, and passion for reading.

This interactive initiative targets core oracy development. By taking the lead, our students are actively building their oral communication and expressing personal preferences. Furthermore, mastering these tutorials directly develops learners' comprehension, logical thinking, and ability to organize events or instructions in a meaningful order.

As part of our vibrant English Week celebrations, Garden City British School had the immense honour of hosting published author, award-winning educator, and former principal, Dr. Carisa Barry Pope (Dr. Risa)!

Our Year 1 and Year 4 students were treated to incredible, high-energy storytelling sessions. Our Year 4 students dove into her wonderful book, “Just Ask, Terri!”—learning invaluable life lessons about the power of speaking up, finding their everyday bravery, and asking for help when they need it. Meanwhile, our Year 1 classes enjoyed a beautifully tailored, engaging storytime session perfect for our youngest readers.

Every parent hopes to raise children who are confident and ready to tackle life's challenges, and Dr. Risa’s visit provided the perfect inspiration across both year groups!

In an atmosphere filled with joy and spirituality, the MOE Subjects Department at Garden City British School organized a special event today—a live simulation of the 'Hajj Journey'—marking the upcoming blessed Eid Al-Adha 🐑❤️. Our students learned the steps and rituals of the sacred pilgrimage in a simplified and practical way. They embraced the values of obedience, solidarity, and compassion, living an overwhelming spiritual experience amid everyone's joy. We pray that Allah accepts our good deeds and yours 🤲. Meet Ahmed Zaitouny (Year 8B), the Head Boy of Garden City British School (GCBS), as he introduces an innovative, student-led initiative for our Key Stage 3 (Secondary) students!

Ahmed is spearheading the introduction of GCBS Dollars—a brand-new token system designed to mirror real-world dynamics. By earning tokens for positive behavior and leadership, students won't just improve the school ecosystem; they will also learn the foundational pillars of financial literacy.
