عقد مركز الإمارات لأبحاث التنقل بجامعة الإمارات ورشة عمل بعنوان "دراسة تقييم البدائل في مشاريع النقل البري من منظور شمولي ومستدام" في المبنى الرئيسي لوزارة الطاقة والبنية التحتية بدبي، بحضور ممثلين عن إدارة التصميم والتخطيط وإدارة الدراسات والبحوث ومجلس الشباب في الوزارة, كما ناقش الطرفين مقترحات التعاون البحثي بين الوزارة والمركز بما يهدف الى رفع كفاءة النقل البري في شبكة المواصلات الاتحادية من الناحية الاقتصادية والبيئية

Emirates Center for Mobility Research conducted a workshop titled “A Life-Cycle Approach to Asses Surface Transport Project” at the premises of the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure in Dubai, attended by representatives from the Project Planning and Design Department, Research & Development Department, and the Ministry’s Youth Council. The workshop was followed by a discussion on means of research collaboration that targets increasing the efficiency of the federal surface transportation network from the cost and environmental perspectives.

Dr. Hamad Al Jassmi, director of Emirates Center for Mobility Research presented a research paper at the International Conference on Intelligent Traffic and Transportation in Paris - France.
The paper summarized our recent work with the Integrated Transport Center (Department of Municipalities and Transport, Abu Dhabi) regarding the development of policies and infrastructure improvement plans to accommodate micro-mobility devices such as bicycles and electric scooters.
Delighted that our paper achieved the award of the best scientific presentation in this conference

We inaugurated the strategic partnership with Emirates Driving Company to develop research in driving and road safety education, supervised by Emirates Center for Mobility Research. Such partnership will open new horizons for innovative solutions triggered by multiple stakeholders, to study traffic safety problems from a broader perspective.

عمل مركز الإمارات لأبحاث التنقل لدى جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، على تطوير منهجية متكاملة تهدف إلى تقييم تكلفة دورة حياة مشاريع الطرق خلال مراحلها المختلفة وتحديد آثارها المستدامة، ومن شأن هذه الدراسة الشاملة مساعدة صناع القرار على اختيار البدائل الأمثل فيما يخص إنشاء مرافق البنى التحتية المخطط الاعتماد عليها لفترة تفوق الـ 50 عاما. وتأخذ هذه المنهجية كافة الأطراف ذوي العلاقة بعين الاعتبار بما في ذلك أصحاب المصلحة (السلطات الحكومية والمستخدمين) والتكلفة ومقدار الطاقة المستهلكة والانبعاثات الملوثة وذلك ضمن أي مرحلة من مراحل المشروع، فضلا عن تكاليف استخراج المواد الخام وإنتاج المواد ونقلها وعمليات البناء والتشغيل والاستخدام (كالحركة المرورية التي ستشهدها هذه الطرق) والصيانة وإعادة التأهيل عند نهاية عمرها الافتراضي
A pioneering research project from the Emirates Centre for Mobility Research (ECMR) at UAE University, led by Dr. Hamad Al Jassmi and Dr. Umair Hasan, has developed a comprehensive methodology to assess life-cycle cost and sustainability impacts for road projects, which aid decision makers in choosing optimum alternatives at a stage where their decisions have implications on infrastructure facilities that would last for more than 50 years. The methodology integrates all aspects of
lifecycle assessment including stakeholder (government authorities and users), cost, energy consumption and pollutant emissions across any specified lifecycle period, which covers raw material extraction, material production and transport, construction, operation, and usage (including traffic), maintenance and rehabilitation, and the end- of-life recycling stage.
