🎬 Social scientist and filmmaker Saba Karim Khan is using documentary storytelling to explore identity, resilience, and the global influence of hip-hop through W.R.A.P. (We Really Are Pakistan) - showing how music can become a language for culture, community, and change.

⚙️ A new collaboration between NYU Abu Dhabi and Sindan UAE is turning research into real-world impact — from advanced manufacturing and R&D to giving students hands-on experience solving industry challenges beyond the classroom.

📚 100 stories, generations of lessons. Together with Tharawat Family Business Forum, NYU Abu Dhabi marks a major milestone documenting family businesses across MENASA. The project, led by Martin Klimke, traces entrepreneurial journeys while uncovering lessons in resilience, leadership, reinvention, and long-term success across generations.

🎉 Congratulations to NYU Abu Dhabi alumna Amal Al Gergawi (Class of 2019) on being selected as a 2026 Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University — becoming the first Emirati to receive this prestigious honor.

Amal will pursue a PhD in Oceans at Stanford’s Doerr School of Sustainability, advancing research focused on strengthening the resilience of marine ecosystems and coastal communities in the face of climate change.

A former Kawader Research Fellow at the Burt Marine Biology Lab and climate negotiator for the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, Amal’s work bridges science, policy, and community engagement to address some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Her remarkable achievements include being named a Rhodes Scholar, receiving the IUCN UAE Young Leader Award, and holding the First-Class Order of Zayed II Presidential Medal.
