Fruity Friday

Fruity Friday is one of the many initiatives at Al Dhafra that promotes healthy eating through engaging, age-appropriate experiences.
Each Friday, students are invited to bring fruits and vegetables in a designated colour, transforming break time into a vibrant celebration of healthy choices. This enjoyable initiative encourages students to explore a wider variety of nutritious foods while reinforcing the importance of a balanced diet and helping to establish lifelong healthy eating habits.
Recognising that healthy habits are most effective when supported both at school and at home, parents receive a weekly colour schedule, enabling them to actively participate by preparing lunchboxes that reflect the featured colour. This strong home-school partnership helps create consistent messages around nutrition and wellbeing.
By making healthy eating interactive, inclusive, and enjoyable, Fruity Fridays fosters positive attitudes towards nutrition while strengthening our whole-school culture of wellbeing, one of the many initiatives that reflects Al Dhafra's commitment to nurturing healthy, happy, and thriving learners.

Healthiest Class Competition

Creating a culture of wellbeing begins with our everyday habits. At Al Dhafra, promoting a safe and healthy lifestyle is embedded in our school culture. Through our year-round Healthiest Class Competition, students are encouraged to make nutritious food choices, while working collaboratively towards a shared goal.

Our initiative goes beyond healthy eating. By earning points as a class, students develop teamwork, accountability, and a collective sense of responsibility, reinforcing the idea that wellbeing is a shared commitment. Each Friday, the healthiest class in every grade is recognised and celebrated, with winning classes enjoying rewards such as Golden Time, physical activities, games, and other enriching experiences.

The Healthiest Class competition is one of the many ways we empower our students to build lifelong healthy habits, support their physical and mental wellbeing, and foster a positive school environment. It is this whole-school commitment to wellbeing that has contributed to Al Dhafra's recognition with the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS), a reflection of our dedication to creating an environment where every student can thrive.

Wellbeing Award for Schools

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that following a rigorous evaluation process, Al Dhafra has been recognized with the Wellbeing Award for Schools for the next three years! This incredible achievement validates what we strive for every single day: a school culture deliberately engineered to feel like a family environment, where the emotional wellbeing and mental health of our students, staff, and families come first.

The report highlighted some amazing aspects of our school. The verifier recognised that parents, students, and staff all praised our Wellbeing Toolbox, celebrating how it successfully bridges the gap between our classrooms and your homes. He identified that our campus is designed to nurture the whole child through purposeful spaces, from active zones like our shaded rooftop football pitch and stationary charging bikes, to quiet havens like our sensory room, reflection areas, and the Green Room. Because of this supportive environment, students shared that they feel deeply valued, understood, and supported, while our dedicated staff expressed immense pride in making Al Dhafra a wonderful place to work and learn.

The report also highlighted the impact of our wellbeing strategy. Thanks to this collective effort, we are celebrating an improved 97.3% school attendance rate, rapid school growth as we now welcome 1,350 students into our family, elevated academic attainment, and a dramatic 50% reduction in behavior warning letters over the last two years. A massive thank you to our incredible Award Coordinator, our hard-working staff, our brilliant students, and our supportive parents. Thank you for partnering with us to build a school where everyone is supported to thrive.
